Nerf Q&A post

A lot of you probably follow Nerf on Facebook and have already read this. I thought it was worth linking to on Nerfhaven for anybody who hasn't. There's a couple of fluff questions, but the last guy asks one that I've seen come up here a lot.

So now we can all get back to bitching about reverse plungers instead of batteries. Personally I think we're about due for another single shot pistol and a missile/arrow launcher, but that's getting a little to speculative so I guess I'll stop here.

↓ They're talking about how they can't say anymore about what blasters they're working on yet, not that they're going to change their minds about making manual blasters.

Thank god for now. Notice that they stated "...for now, though, so keep checking back for more details as they’re revealed!" I equates this to "In a few more months, your screwed."

However, I will enjoy the pnuematic system for as long as it lasts.

Maybe I won't because A ) I have little respect for anybody B ) If there was a problem with it, Nerf wouldn't have posted it on their blog.

It's not some random kids post I pulled off Facebook, it's an official Nerf Q&A deal.

I gotta say, what nerf is putting out now is a mixed bag for me. The stampede is cool, but not having something as simple as a manual fire mode (like the vulcan) just killed it for me. The Barrel Break is a lot of fun and I enjoy it, and I'd like to get a Spectre. I like that it's less chunky than the maverick, and that it fixes the maverick's issues (putting the rail ahead of the slide instead of on it, cylinder rotation on priming rather than on trigger pull).

Ultimately, I think they need to focus their efforts on blaster performance. My Alpha trooper's stock range is pitiful. The recon and raider also sucked out of the box. The deploy seems to be a bit more capable, but the reverse plunger is so underpowered. I got a clear nitefinder and it's stock range is excellent. I want to see more of that.

First of all let me just say hello to the NIC. I have been patiently awaiting validation for quite some time now.

But on topic. That was my question that Nerf answered and I don’t really care about my name being posted. Also I can assure you that I am not a minor. It was just one of the many that I asked that day some, like that one, serious and others sarcastic and rhetorical meant to spark the brains of those who read it. Its really a shame what that page has become. It used to be smaller and full of like minded people who wanted to stay in touch with Nerf and each other. However unfortunately it has grown into an ugly three headed monster in which the VAST majority of posts come from a bunch of 12 year old fanboys who just want to tell the world that they bought a mav.

As to Nerfs response. It kind of makes me mad, they are so good and dancing around the questions being asked. They constantly just doll out a bunch of corporate fluff to answer those questions and it really pisses me off but I do understand why they do it. What I don’t understand is why they ask their fans to ask these questions and then never give actual answers. Actually one of the other questions I posted that day asked Nerf why they did that. Again it was rhetorical but it made me and several others laugh. I really do wish they would stop with the electric blasters though it (in my opinion) gets too far away from what Nerf is and what it’s about. In the immortal words of Talio “We are nerf. We are not paintball. We are not air soft. We are not video games…..” and electric blasters are drawing the crowd away from its heritage. I digress. Let’s not get into all that right now. As for me I’ll be clinging to my Longshots and Nightfinders for a little bit longer.

Hey, nice to hear from the question asker. Yeah, I agree that they didn't really answer how they felt about getting away from the "roots" of Nerf, but what I feel we should take away from this is that Nerf confirmed there will be new non-electric blasters in the future.

I'd like to see some Air piston blasters, the Rf20 is ~10 years old and that's the most recent piston blaster. Springers are great, but they're not the only type of blaster in town..

I think you are forgetting the Magstrike, eh?

I would like more non clip, single shot guns in particular. There is only so much you can do with a nitefinder. It seems that to get anywhere with a single shot gun, you've got to shell out some serious cash for an older blaster, or move a lot closer to the homemades side than I think would count as simply modification.

I agree and like I said im going to be holding on to my older bladders for a while to come partly because of nostalgics partly because they are so much better. Even in stock form some of the old single shot springers were fantastic I remember being younger and taking on 4 different people with nothing but a LnL
