We Report Range, Why Not Velocity?

I use a Shooting Chrony to test the FPS (feet per second) velocity of my modded blasters with various customised foam darts, thats the easiest way. The device measures the muzzle velocity of a wide variety of projectiles.Again range is one thing. This may not be the way to calculate it, but velocity is a very imprtant factor, if it can be accurately reported and applied. Go look at any pack of real live gun ammunition- range AND velocity is always reported. Still, the Aristotle refernce wasn't needed.
Here is my setup, i use it for measuring arrow velocity at the archery club too (archery is one of my other hobbies):

Here are some examples:
This is the FPS of a stock streamline dart fired out of a stock Longshot:

This is the FPS of a converted unweighted SDL dart fired out of a modded Longshot with 14kg load aftermarket spring:

This is the FPS of a weighted and calibrated stefan fired out of a brass breeched Longshot with 14kg load aftermarket spring:

If anyone is keen to see more, i posted up a whole thread of FPS measurement of various stock and modded blasters over at the NerfSG forum a while back.
Anyways, i do find measuring the dart velocity quite useful when modding blasters 'cos i can see the differences in shot power at each step of the modding process (instead of just saying the shot looks faster).
Interestingly, the trend i observe from the velocity measurement tests seems to be that the FPS readings for Nerf blasters are usually around double that of the parallel-to-ground range.
But ultimately its more of a "that's cool" kinda thing, 'cos most modders just want their blasters to shoot as far and as fast as possible, and don't really bother about all the numbers and figures.

You can clench.
You can use your finger.

Or you can use a handy tool:
All of them a functional solutions for increasing the muscle tone, which will be beneficial for pregnancy and childbirth.
TheSilverhead: You don't need to respond to this either, since I'm sure you are ignorant of the nuances of childbirth as well. Velocity and range are a function of each other. Drag has a dominant role in the flight of stefans, you can't just handwave it away. Chronometers are useful for comparing blasters to each other, but don't let that confuse the issue in your mind (range and velocity are a function of each other). Also, your post about rifle cartridges is juts making you look even more ignorant. Read up some more about the physics of projectiles - you need more knowledge about the subject before you can present the argument you are trying to make.

After reading this thread, I wondered how anyone could make a case that nerfers aren't geeks.
I ani't no pee-pants nerd!
