Hello! I am glad to finally be on the best Nerf forum ever! I have lurked on this forum for quite some time even when not a member and I would say I have a decent knowledge of the blasters. As I have figured out from experience of wars and such, I am not that much a springer user myself. So lets just rule those off right now. I would like to finally have a good primary at my disposal rather than 4B's and 3B's and such. This is were you guys come in. I would love to know what kind of blasters would be good for me to use as a primary. For resources I can get almost anything but brass. On a expertise level I would say I am somewhere around a 5/10. Able to do integrations, able to understand how the mechanisms in the blaster work and what the do. So what Air Blaster do you think would be good for me to have as my primary. As for price I don't want to BUY it for more than 50 dollars USD.
Thank you very much in advance NIC! :D

Not a 2k or a SM1500? When looking through the directory the AT3K's only acquire ranges of 85 feet. A 2K is smaller and in the directory gets better ranges.

Well unfortunately, if you don't like what is currently available for air blasters and you don't like springers, you are going to have to make a homemade. Keep in mind, however, that homemade air blasters are BANNED from most wars. So, unless you change your mind about springers or score a blaster at a thrift store, you're shit out of luck.

Also, there is no best primary. I have 3 main primaries that I use personally. Just find something that you like and use it. If you don't know what you're good with, then just experiment with different blasters.

EDIT: Just because a blaster doesn't shoot 3 hundred million fucking feet doesn't mean that it isn't good. Most of the shots that you will make in a war will be within 60 feet. If you do manage to pick someone off at 100 feet, you are either extremely lucky or you possess magic, which I seriously doubt that you do.

I'm not sure if you've seen the 3k overhaul, but it gets ranges of 120', and that is 6 shots.

An unplugged 4B is about the most powerful airgun you can purchase easily that is allowed at wars. Spy Gear has a bazooka-ish thing that's either just coming out, or teasing us, but it may be too Titan-esque to be allowed.

You can also try a watergun conversion, but be warned that they can be ridiculously overpowered. Here's a PulseStrike with a pump replacement (so there's no built-in OPRV anymore) with a 5' CPVC barrel.

Short form - don't knock the 4B just because it's common. It's about the upper limit for airguns, and can be pretty damned effective with a few mods. F'ex, I'm going to take to the field with two 4Bs that are set up similar to this LBB:

With sprung pumps, you can dual-wield them.

So you guys dont think I should use any of the OLD Nerf blasters? I'm a very patient person so when one pops up I'll be ready :D
So you guys dont think AT2,3,OR 4Ks are good to use? Or any supermaxx blasters? And I should just stick with a 4B?

AT3K overhaul is very good for the price, and it can shoot 100-110 with slug darts with 6 shots. Or skip the turret part of the mod and just hopper it.

People in the ^ quotes where just saying overhaul a 3k. 2k's are a little rarer and they hit about 100' with proper mods and 6 pumps. They're also insanely small. 3k's are a bit more "adult size" and if you use a Magstrike pump or a RF20 pump, they can hit 110-120' with slugs (as stated by cheerios) in 3 pumps.

EDIT: I'm feeling generous - http://nerfhaven.com...showtopic=18022

I also say that an overhauled 3k is a great option. I have a magstrike pump on mine and it takes about 3-4 pumps max. That is what I have been using and it works great! Big blasts are nice especially if you are low on budget. Sm1500's are also very nice. Some of the guys at my wars use them and they are great, but they are a little pricy for what you may want.

Another thing to keep in mind, take time to make good darts. Darts make a big difference.

Hope that helps

My conclusion after seeing the write-up is that I don't want to be handling tubing. I also do not want a larger gun.
All of you said you only need the blaster to be effective up to 70 feet, so I think Ill go with the 2K. I like the looks of it as well as the relatively small size. The 4B is too boring and and rather large as well with the huge 18in barrel. And homemades are too complicated. Thanks every body for helping me out with this decision. :D

2K's are very prone to leakage from the goo gauge. Also with the 3k you can keep the stock pump and still get better ranges then a 2K.

Personally, I think a 2k is a sufficient primary for your level of experience. There are very easy, quick mods for it that will be getting you 90-100+ in no time.
