[Secret Assassin]

When I was young, my dad worked in a plumbing supply store. I had an old Bow and Arrow that I got from my older cousin and would use stock darts with pencil erasers glued in the which I shot out of a Crayola barrel. I found a wye and made a crude assembly on the spot and it worked! My dad helped me with the design and putting it together because I was fairly young, but understood the concepts. This was about 9 years ago which was long before the widespread use of the hopper clip.

You're probably wondering the point of this post. I'd like people to stop taking credit for the invention of the hopper clip because I did this awhile ago, but just never got around to posting it because I wasn't a member 9 years ago, because I was fairly young.

The hopper clip really can't be defined to one person just inventing it. People should stop taking credit for singlehandedly making this (that's you, Split/Ice Nine).

It doesn't matter if you invented it 9 years ago. It's a simple enough idea that I'm sure that it was independently developed but many people. But an idea which lives and dies with one person is no more valuable than an idea that never existed at all.

Correct, the people who receive credit for the hopper today are because they are the ones who spread the finding and using of the wye to the community, and may or may not have improved it on some aspects. The reason why you feel like you did not receive credit is because no one knew you have already thought of it earlier.

I don't think that Ice Nine or Split have ever tried to take credit for the hopper clip. Be careful about throwing around accusations that have little or no basis. Especially on this forum. Things will turn into shit storms fast.

I'm with Brit. Who cares? People are acting like rotating the RSCB clip 45 degrees is such a complex idea that multiple people couldn't have possibly had the same idea around the same time.

I'm sure if I had a bunch of wyes lying around (or at least knew there was such a thing), even I could have thought up the hopper clip.

It's not about who did what, it's that progress was made in world of nerf modding, and that should be enough.
