Orange fbr? Are you sure it's closed cell? I just bought fbr from McMaster and it is grey, not orange. Post a link to it, I want to see it. There's a chance that it is open cell, which means it wont work as well, or at all. I'll check McMaster in the meantime.

Edit: McMaster sells only one kind of closed cell polyethylene foam rod, which is part number 93295K33.

You don't want to get that. Firstly, its foam rubber, which I can not guarantee will work. Second, its around $12.31 per 10 feet, which is not worth it at all. You are better off just buying normal gray/black foam.

It says the material is "silicone rubber and foam rubber" so I'd imagine that it won't have the same texture that dart foam does, and will likely have a lot more friction in barrels.

Nerf brand dart foam is orange and is always the same size. If you make 1.25" darts, it's about $8 per 60 darts. Not exactly a steal, but it's good foam with a bright color. If you choose to go this route, I suggest suction cup darts. Their heads are the easiest to remove without damaging the foam.

If at first you don't succeed, add more epoxy.

well i would rather have just orange foam because i am making slug darts and don't want the hole in the dart.

Learn from my mistake, don't buy it for darts. Its a high friction, skinned foam rubber and makes horrible darts.

It was several months ago that I bought the stuff, so no, I don't have pictures of the darts. I salvaged what I could of the washers and felt and threw the foam away.
