The ideal HvZ rig is to simply wait a couple weeks for the Stampede. Coupled with a Tac vest, you can add a Maverick to the sewn on holster and add a Rapid Fire Rifle to the melee holster on the back.

Edit: Where do you play?

If your doing HVZ get a raider, the drum mags come in handy. Also like gears said a spartan and a tacticool vest would be another very good combo.

Skip all those guns and get an Alpha Trooper if you need it now, the Barrel Break is also decent against zombies since it's so easy to reload while running.

Stampede will also be a good addition to the arsenal once it's released.

And if you really want to be Bad-ass, you could use a vulcan.

That would even make Faddle a badass.

In all seriousness, the best blaster I've ever used for HvZ is an over-under borrowed from RicochetRebels. Great rate of fire and decent range for the gametype.

20:06- Blademaster : nerf needs to release hot pink recons
20:07- Mr_BadWrench: Blade, If they do someone would have to duct tape twitch to a phone pole so everyone else gets a chance to buy one.
20:08- Aimless: Duct tape wont do.

I would get the buzzbee and then saw of the barrel, you could get a recon but make sure that you have the barrel extension of, it decreases range. I am going to get the stampede when it comes out, you could do whatever you want though.

Given the need for quick reload in HvZ, I would recommend the shell-less Barrel Break over the Doubleshot, and the AR and raider over both. If you go clip system, try to keep is consistent so you can swap mags when needed.

The FireFly has long been the gun of choice for my HvZ crew. It got me 40+ stuns during a recent game in which I was the last human standing.

The layout of the gun lends itself to extremely fast priming and target acquisition. The 8-shot capacity is adequate and the open turret allows for quick reloading. The onboard storage for 8 darts is also convenient, plus you can easily clip a mesh dart pouch to the lower sling attachment point.

It really is an underappreciated gun in my opinion. Maybe it doesn't have much of a place in formal Nerf wars, but it kicks ass in HvZ. I wouldn't choose anything over the FireFly as a primary after seeing the Raider and other magfed guns fail to fire.

That's another reason I liked the barrel break. If a bad streamline gets jammed at the wrong time, an otherwise easy hit turns into a death.

I never gave the Barrel Break any consideration until reading your post. I think it will be joining my arsenal soon for the reasons you mentioned.

If you're willing to use buzzbee ammo, don't rule out the tommy-20. It's actually a beautiful blaster, it's just a nightmare to get working with nerf ammo.

Personally, I like using the hornet for HvZ. the abilty to shoot semi auto is pretty useful for me,as well as the "blast button" feature.

I would get an Alpha Trooper. Cheap, but very very good.

Feel free to ask for details.

Most of the weapons we use are perfect HvZ setups. Magstrikes, Clip fed blasters with drum mags, RF20's, etc. Get a good RoF on your side, and I'll see you on the other side!

If you really want to the recon and the alpha trooper, I think the alpha trooper would be the wiser choice. I've never used one personally, but they have the extra capacity in the clip and a better rate of fire. Every recon I have used has jammed several times even with good streamlines. Plus, they are the same price, so the alpha trooper would be a much wiser choice and won't hurt your wallet as much as a raider.

I'd say the Alpha Trooper because it has a great rate of fire and an okay range for its use. I've always hated the Raider because of the "to much weight on one side thing". Also wasn't there another topic for HvZ weapons?

i work at walmart and im going to wait for my employee discount to kick in before i would get the spartan.

I'm throwing in with the chorus here: get an Alpha Trooper. The size, weight, capacity and rate of fire are excellent, and the price is more than reasonable. There's a good chance I'll be using my new Trooper as my primary this coming semester, instead of my modified Recon.

Unless you decide to save up for a Stampede, which I'm also doing.

The FireFly has long been the gun of choice for my HvZ crew.... I wouldn't choose anything over the FireFly as a primary after seeing the Raider and other magfed guns fail to fire.

Hear hear!

The FireFly always gets me odd looks when I pull it out for a round of HvZ, but I'd trust my brains to no other.
When dealing with zombies, the whole game changes. With no ranged ability to compete against, power, and to a lesser degree accuracy become unnecessary, all comes down to reliability and fast reloading.

Anything that uses streamlines is out in my book. If it can jam, it will, and usually just as you are getting bum-rushed. On that note, mid game darts become very scarce, and the ability to pick darts off the ground and use them is almost a requisite. Good luck putting a tagger or screamer into a Recon.

Perhaps a heretical suggestion, but a buzzbee berserker, may be the ultimate HvZ weapon. It adds pretty much all the benefits of the firefly, but uses 20 shots instead of 8. Could also contain a shotgun center blast, or a singled long range harassment shot.

Edit: Minor Necro ~1 week, but I've not heard anyone bring up the point about the Berserker being a valid blaster.

My recon has never jammed once, I have had it for 2 years, and use it frequently.
