I'm hoping to mold the shell and cast it in resin.
And possibly selling some casts in a small run or two.

I sure would. I hate the way the nf looks, but love the range and power it has for a pistol.

If the price was right, I'd be intirested. How would it work, just screw the NF internals into the shell, or would some serious work be required?

ON-TOPIC: I can't wait to see how this turns out. As Brutal said, a slide would make it more like an L&L but would be harder to assemble (maybe).

Hopefully there will be little work required. I'm engineering this to be as simple as possible.

Templates? I'm sure I could release some basic templates when I'm done.
As far as the action, I'm keeping it just as the pull-back. Any kind of sliding action would definitely make it much more complicated, thus more time on my end, making it a lot more expensive for you guys.
Not that I didn't consider it though!

Glad to see some people still remember me...

I'm not a pro at wood, so what kind of wood is that and what do you cut with?

It's MDF and I cut it mostly with a bandsaw. I use a dremel and sandpaper for most of the sanding.
Pretty basic stuff, not too complicated.

Only got to work on it a little today--only about 30 minutes--but still worked on it nonetheless.
Worked on sanding down the edges of the grip.

He built an entire shell out of wood... I'm sure he won't have much trouble adding a little nub to hold a spring.

Maybe you can make an alternative design for a plunger tube extension?

Been working.
Adding styrene to the outside for detailing:



Drilled the hole for the screw to attack the plunger tube to the frame:



And added the knob for the trigger to follow:



Still much more to go.

So after all this work building a prototype from MDF board you're going to cast it? I commend your dedication to a simply aesthetic project.
