alright. I've been thinkingabout making a CO2 powered homemade, but I have no Idea of how to do it. I thought about taking a some parts off of my paintball gun(it doesn't work), but I don't kknow how I would stop the air from just keep going into the air chamber ;) anyone got any ideas?

...Well, first you hafta remember that this is a homemades forum for Nerf, therefore you will be making a Nerf gun... Yes, I've made the same mistake too...
If this thing is going to be a-shootin' paintballs, use the damn gun...
Well, for Nerf, if you use the internals of a paintball gun, is that really homemade?

If you do choose to go on, DON'T USE PVC! CO2 will cause PVC to become brittle and may burst, explode, crack, explode, etc. I would suggest using copper tubing. The whole point of Nerf is that we aren't spending all this money on CO2 and shit like in paintball or airsoft... I know this cuz I play paintball...

I would suggest using a CO2 bike pump, which is much weaker than that of paintball guns, thus reducing the chance of you blowing up your darts and/or blowing up the gun itself. You could, however, make a typical homemade out of copper and use a CO2 bike pump instead of a hand pump...

You can use some type of valve that is used with copper, probably from Home Depot... Technically, you pressurize the gun with CO2 (which is, of course, much more powerful than a typical hand pump homemade), as long as you don't overpressurize it. (Is that a word?) Then, you open the valve, and the CO2 rushes out propelling the dart... Ok you probably know that, but to sum it all up, no matter what you do without the paintball gun parts, it's gonna be a simple system as in a basic homemade.

i'd imagine that if you take the "bottom line" (i think it's called that)* off of your gun, you could find a standard fitting to bring it into steel or copper tubing.

*the piece i am talking about is the part that (standardly) goes from the bottom of your handle, where the tank screws in, to the front of the gun (just below the barrel). when using it with a homemade, you would have the tank screw into the regular spot, but the other end go into a female fitting that you purchased. your going to need a really good valve if this idea is going to work, i don't think a sprinkler valve will take that kind of pressure. if i were you, and obsessed with using paintball parts and using co2, i would just throw a brass barrel onto my paintball gun. (seeing as how your gun doesn't work, this isn't an option)

I used the valve body out of a talon paintball gun in my Bolt-actin Rifle. I designed my own trigger tolet out a quick burst of gas with each shot rather than letting out a continuous flow of gas. Using PVC is not really a problem. True, the expanding gas does get cold. But the exposure time is so low it will never get cold.......heat transfer is a function of time. It can be done and it can be done well. My rifle works superbly. It is very durable and very reliable. Check out this site for it to get some idea of what I did:

I hereby demote you to the position of Normal User. We are no longer in need of a Volunteer Forum Nazi so the position will not be re-filled.

The alternative to 'digging em up' is creating a new thread about an existing topic. I'd greatly prefer to keep things in context with what has already been discussed on the subject.
