Nerf doesn't have any plans for any special package for the Stampede for right now.

The Stampede isn't anywhere in Northern VA. I found I nice dude my age working at Target and he checked the back but didn't find it. He looked around on the computer and found out that no other store in Northern VA has it yet, but the shipment will be arriving in about a week. I'll check back in a week though and report my findings.

Guys, they aren't allowed to sell it before the release date unless they want to get sanctioned by the manufacturers. I just talked to the district manager of the TRU in my area (he is the DM for all TRU in Central and Southern NJ). He told me that they have an area in the warehouse for items that have a release date. The registers can't even scan them until 9-9-10. If any store sells an item before their release date (and with how diligent Hasbro was about even the release of images surrounding this year's line), they can lose bulk purchasing discounts, max quantity allowances, and possibly the right to sell the product for a period of time. The companies can also be fined by the government for illegal marketing and sales practices. Release dates are set for fair trade practices, though it is mostly seen in movies, music and software.

I would not be surprised if Hasbro is really keeping an eye on this release. Just be patient. As we get more information about the Stampede, I'm sure Talio, myself, Litersize, and the others in the fold will let you know.

Hey, I have a question that you may be able to answer. How is the clip released if the bolt stops closed? Does this blaster not a have the clip locks that say, a recon has?

No it doesn't have a clip lock. You are able to release the clips at any time.

If no one is interested no one is interested. Think of it like this...say you take your dick out in front of a girl and she's not interested in it. It doesn't help to smack her in the face again with it 7 days later.

Ok another Question that is sort of on topic, did the topic of the relevance of the release date 09-09-10 come up at all during the night or would someone just happen to know of the top of their heads? I may have missed something but besides the "official" release date of this revolutionary blaster I have seen to reason for making this such an important day (ie no anniversary or what not)

It could be because it is the last month of the 2010 fiscal year, so they are trying to get a final boost in sales before they report their earnings. There is no real significance to the date. Nothing was ever really said to us.

Every year, blasters have release dates in the 4th quarter of their fiscal year. They may have decided to make this one special for whatever reason.

I believe that September 9th is the anniversary of when the original Nerf material was created, last year was it's 40th anniversary, and this year is the 40th of when it was released as a toy ball. I'm not 100% sure on this, but it's the best i can think of.

BINGO!!! I just did a little more research (sometimes I need to thin of things in a different context to do a search), but the Nerf Ball was released to the public on September 9th, 1969.
