I'm having trouble figuring out how to solve this. I have an almost airtight seal, but I will have one if I can have a force pushing against it, such as a bracket like AssassinNF did. So my question is, how can I go about this without destroying too much of the shell?

Couldn't you basically extend the rod that goes through the turret out a couple of inches, and put a compression spring between the rod end and the front of the turret?

No, cause the turret will continually twist the spring around itself causing more tension.

Why? Look at an AT2K turret to see what I'm talking about. The only difference, in that case, is that the spring pulls, rather than pushes, the turret toward the sealing face.

Wait, are talking about having the spring on the outside or down the center of the turret? Also, what rod are you talking about? There's not a rod on my turret...

The easiest way would be to just hold the turret against the seal with your hand. That's what I do with the firefly turret on my SM750, and it has a larger gap then your turret appears to.

The other easy option (that I'm sure I've seen on here but can't remember where) is to put a thin piece of plastic between the shell and the top part of the turret. It pushes the top part out, which pushes the bottom part against the seal.

Another thing to try (although depending on what you're using for the seal it might be a little tougher) would be to make whatever you have forming the seal thicker. This is the only thing that made my lanard shot gun finally work, but it took forever to get everything adjusted just right.

I really like firefly turrets, hope yours turns out well.

Thanks, once I get it assembled I'll try the second option. Ha I don't wanna hold the turret and I also don't want to screw up the seal I have now.

Add one layer of craft foam to the sealer. It will put pressure against the turret and keep it sealed perfectly. It will also eliminate the need for a larger integration bracket.

Right, I was thinking of the Mav turret, for some reason. Anyways, I meant on the outside, in the center of the barrel "cluster."

I'd personally go with adding a layer of craft foam to the seal. I made a rearloading sm1.5k using craft foam for a seal, and its basically airtight. Roboman can account for this, as he was shot throughout the day with it during Armageddon.
