I am having a problem with my BBB, in that my [k26] spring from McMaster is not fitting around the plunger rod. I am asking for advise in what i should do about this. I am moding the newer red BBB.

Don't use a [k26] spring. It's that simple. You could try sanding down the Plunfer rod, but it's a stupid idea, and will most likely make it snap from the force of impact. I've heard that [k25] springs work nicely though.
