I'm about to do my first Mod on a TTG, with not much experience. After reading as many Mods as I can, I decided Im going to take it one step at a time. I dont want to have to make my own darts, so I want to keep the barrel the same size.

Im going to start out small, by removing the Air Restrictor, and then sealing that up.

Then, I'm going to seal the barrel with electrical tape, close it up, and then attatch a bungie onto the back.

Based on what I've just told you, is it going to hold up? What might that do to acuracy and range? Also, my friend has an old Eagle Eye he was interested in modding, does anyone have any ideas for that? And, does anyone ahve any good ideas for what to use the target for besides a target?

I would recommend starting by using a glue gun instead of just electrical tape. After gluing it, then you can use the tape to reinforce it. I haven't used Bungie cords on Nerf guns, as I have questioned how long the plunger handle will last under that kind of pressure. I would go with rubber bands instead.

Thanks, I'll do it with the glue gun instead. For the bungie cord, I have a good length of it, which I can cut down to any size, so I was wondering if anyone knows the best size so that the pressure is just right? About how much pressure should get aplied with the rubber bands?

I haven't worked with bungie cords, but I have used rubber bands. For any gun, I recommend experimenting with various quantities of rubber bands. Depending on what kind of bands you use, the results will vary.

OK, thanks. I was just looking into a gluestick barrel. How does that work with the TTG? Well? Would it be worth it? And would I have to glue it in? Or is it a snug fit?

Wait, would be best for me to Mod? As a Newbie? The NIte Finder? Or The Tech Target? I know there are others but I'm just looking at the ones that are currently being marketed.

Im thinkning that would be a simple mod to do, and probably is a better deal, Im going to go ahead and do it unless anyone has any last suggestions.

I'd recommend mini bungee cords instead of a full sized one. A glue stick barrel should work just fine on the TTG, it is reversable. All you are doing is hot glueing it into the existing barrel. You migh also want to try a hollowed out crayola marker.

In either case, Glue stick or crayola, you'll have to use micro darts as your ammo.
Good luck. Once you get started you'll realized it's not as hard or scary as you might think.

I would suggest the TTG mod over the 'NIte Finder' because the TTG's insides are just the plunger tube and the barrel, whereas the NF's guts are like 5 different peices.

But the TTG is like 15$ so if you brake it your not in a good situation, but if you lose a peice to the Nf it's not 'as' bad, cause it's only a 6$ gun. But personally I like the TTG because I'm a good shot with it and it is more powerful than the Nf, and in the wars that I play with people you hafta have strong guns or else the person you just shot won't say ouch or something, they just lie.(VERY annoying)

But I suggest the TTG if you have the money. I don't put bands on mine and they are still VERY powerfull, but I have a cpvc barrel. But every time I put bands on my TTG's they aren't as accurate. Strange.

That could possibly happen because the barrel is now too short for how much power the gun has. When the dart exits the barrel there is still a good bit of high velocity air that is coming out after it, blowing the dart off course. A muzzle brake might solve this, or I could just be smoking something.

Actually you're pretty much right Skiman.

Anyways, the Nitefinder isn't that complicated, the barrel is screwed in anyways so you don't have to worry about losing too many pieces... And you can buy 2 Nitefinders for the price of 1 TTG, so you can practice I suppose. Anyways, the TTG is easier to mod, but I bet once you finish it you'll find that it's really not as hard to mod most guns at it seems. Also, for the simplist Eagle Eye mod I can think of, take a crayola barrel and shove it down the existing barrel. Anyways, I've read that Nitefinder distances almost match TTG distances when modded properly, and Nitefinders in my opinion are smaller.
