Yup. My cousin shot my Max Shot yesterday, and the front of the gun went further than the dart. I'm hoping I can just epoxy the shells back together, but I thought it might be fun for some of you guys to check it out. Has this ever happened to anybody else before?

Excellent! I've been waiting for mine to do something spectacular like that. There's just so much smashing going on every time you fire it that it's bound to happen sooner or later.

Though Grinchy, as well as many others in the community, understand the possible consequences when we modify these blasters for improved performance, many others, especially newbies, get frustrated when they find that their beloved bbb/ x-bow/ SS II/ Supermaxx/ Air Tech/ Lanard blaster suddenly snaps/ breaks/ leaks/ heaves/ blows chunks.

Perhaps a precursory warning thread/ article about how modification affects longevity/ durability of their toys; after all, they are just plastic. This may relieve unrealistic expectations of the new guys who fix up their blasters.

Ya know what? I'll throw something together.

p.s.; Hey; nice clean break there, Grinch. Looks repairable, and maybe you can come up with a reinforcement upgrade for those who modify Max Shots. I never had an opportunity to have one....grrr....stuck with First Shots.

Go to Lowes. Go to the hardware section and wander around untill you find a bunch of shelving standarts and misc. aluminum and steel sheets, bars, tubes, and angles. Pick up some of the thing long bars. Get some pop rivets and a pop rivet gun if you don't already have one. They aren't really expensive and they are worth the price. Drill holes in the aluminum and shell where desired, and rivet it all together.
Edit: just looked at that first picture again. You need to duct tape a boxing glove on the end of that thing and use it as a melee weapon. I'll photoshop it up when I get home from work if no one else has by tonight.

Wow, that exact same thing happened to mine, in the exact same place too. Here's what you do- superglue the parts together first (very carefully so you don't glue any of the internals together) Then put a bunch of hotglue around that. Then wrap the area in a few layers of duct tape, then wrap the entire midsection of teh gun in electrical tape, I'm talking like almost a whole roll of the stuff. The gun might break again in a different spot, but then you can just do the same thing again. Mine's been working perfectly and I've had it taped up that way for like 2 or 3 months, so it'll definitely work.

Wow the exact thing happened to mine. I hotglued it back on then loaded it up with ductape and it worked fine. Then like a month later the cocking handle broke where it pulls up the white thing in the gun, and i had to trash it. I think the plastic of the maxshot is very cheap.
