The general idea of BAFF is to get a Bay Area (San Franscisco to San Jose) Nerf war once a month. Generally, it will be on the second Saturday of every month. If you have anything to say other than that you are attending, please send it out on the email list instead of posting here.

Time:11 a.m. is when the first round will start, try to get to the field by 10:45 . We meet at the picnic table area.

General directions:(Thanks Aquinas)
This is assuming that you are coming from I-880:

1. Exit 23 for Alvarado Niles Road
2. EASTBOUND on Alvarado Niles Road (I-880 NORTHBOUND = RIGHT turn, I-880 SOUTHBOUND = LEFT turn; hope it make sense)
3. RIGHT turn onto Hop Ranch Road
4. Hop Ranch Road curves left and turns into Marsh Hawk Road; parking for the park will be all along the right side of Marsh Hawk.

Ditto everything Bob, Ben and Jake said.

One additional thought: not everybody can operate at the same pace. Some of us like things to move along faster, others may not. There is absolutely nothing wrong with needing additional breaks in-between when everybody else still wants to play. I'd simply like to propose that if you need a break, don't get in the way of those who want to play. Don't actively go around and get everybody to trade with you. Don't engage in idle chatter with everybody around you. Have the decency and courtesy to wait until the round begins, with the people who wants to play "out of the way," THEN you do your thing with the others who are taking breaks also. At the heart of a BAFF Outing is flinging foam. I dare say that most of us show up to a BAFF Outing to fling foam. If that's not your primary motivation for showing up, that's fine; just don't be in the way of the rest of us who are there to PLAY.

We're really trying to do things as a community, where everybody gets a say, and not rule with a top-down, iron fist model- which means that we'll occasionally run into problems that other NIC communities may not. But I think doing things this way is worth it. If every single one of us exhibit a little civility and be willing to give and take a little, I think we'll be fine.


p.s. As great as Papa John's pizza is, we might need to investigate into cheaper options as far as meals go. Nerfman suggested Little Caesar's, and Ben is willing to hook us up with CostCo's if need be. Another way is to take a more accurate tally of how many people will actually be eating pizza, so that we can order more appropriate portions (I think we ordered a little too much yesterday, which wasn't anyone's fault). I just hope the nearby Domino's will be back in business soon. They've got great deals, and it's a 1 minute drive from the park.

I am back and I am coming the the war. Sorry for such a short notice. I have had a busy time over the months I have been gone. I will be selling off mostly everything I own from shells, to full guns. I have lots to list so I will not be posting what I have. Yes Hippo I have the BBBB shell and Matt (Hippo's guest) I have your custom gun.

Great war everyone! I really enjoyed the no tap rules today, along with whatever the water bottle game was called. Thanks to everyone who showed up, our next BAFF will most likely be on July 10th, the same day as Geddon. I will post a thread up tomorrow hopefully.

That was an awesome war.

Pros:
-Seeing Hoth and meeting his guest
-Seeing Flip again
-All my Nerf buddies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-The Holy 2 uniting
-Getting a maxshot, L+L, PETG, foam, and other stuffs
-DTC was awesome (good idea Hippo)
-Getting lots of kills
-retrieved a lot of my darts
-Pizza with garlic butter sauce
-My little brother shooting me in the head

Cons:
-A little hot
-Trading got in the way a little bit, but not as bad as last time
-Too many people at the park, thus decreasing nerfing space
-The day went by too fast

I believe 12, but we still nerfed fairly well.

12 is actually a great number. You can keep things a bit less structured, more laid back, and still able to get lots of games in. You can't do that if you have, say, 20 people. Tee hee.

Well, we had times where we would get like 6 rounds in fairly quickly ad also times when it was slow, but I think you need both, so I really enjoyed today because of that.
