My church is in the process of building a gym. Basically, I and my friends have free region in it. We want to have a nerf war inside of it. We're trying to figure out how to create barriers, and we're not sure what to use. Our only idea is cardboard (Set it up like walls.). Our biggest restriction is the fact that we have to be able to take it apart and put it back up with relative ease. I'm wondering if there are any good ideas out there for this.

I'll give you a clue as to what we're planning. We want to have a kind of SWAT style wars. Considering it’s indoors, and we plan on having lights off, and flashlights on. We want to be able to create a type of building atmosphere. However we also would like to be versatile about this too. We would most likely play CTF wars. And use the room from corner, to corner. The war theoretically is awesome, and is in no way in comparison. But we're having trouble with this whole wall thing.

PS Hopefully, this will become a place for SSNW (SWAT Style Nerf Wars). And eventually become like a LANO, or YANO. Only, more for the experts.

PSS Any Ideas, and or help would be great. Thanks.

Overturned card tables are nice, but not very tall. Go to home depot, get a bunch of PVC and a bunch of couplers, and build 5-6 foot high rectangular or square frames, held upright by PVC supports, and then cover the frames with dark fabric. It'd be light, quick to assemble, and more versatile than cardboard.

Two roads converged in the woods, and I took the one less traveled......and now I don't know where the hell I am.

that sounds like fun. i would agree with spoon, get some cheap dark fabric or maybe just tarps, and then make a pvc frame with legs kind of like a portable baseball backstop (if any of you play baseball...the thing that a pitcher would be behind while throwing in a batting practice). well...if you turn this into an organized war, i will be happy to make and bring up some barricades, if you are in need. i bet a few others would be willing to do the same too. also, are you going to completely cover the gym in barricades, like a building with hallways and rooms? or, will it be more like indoor paintball (i think it's called speedball), with fewer barricades, and more space in the middle of the arena. i would say that if you are going to use the SWAT theme, try to have as many barricades as possible. this is a great idea, if only I had a gym at my disposal...

Well I'd like to have enough barricades to do what your talking about, and kinda make rooms and hallways. But I'm not to sure I can get that many. (I also have to store these some where.) It would most likely be speedball, obviously however, it wouln't exactly be the same with the lights off.

okay, just tell me if you want me to make any barricades to bring up to the war, if it ever happens. i think some should be 6 feet or more (in height) to use as walls, and others of smaller sizes to use as bunkers and barricades. i may go ahead and build a few for fun, but if you have any specific dimensions you will want for the war, i will use those. also, when is the gym scheduled to be finished, and do you think that the war could likely happen this summer?

also, would homemades and/or brass/PETG 5ks be allowed? i know it's your style, but indoor homemades could cause some problems. there is one solution which will allow you to have your cake and eat it too, which would be to require paintball masks to prevent from the injuries bound to happen. with that rule, you should suggest long pants and shirt too.

on a side note, i think it would be cool if people wore kneepads, which would add some interesting sliding tactics on the hardwood.

Lol, I'd probably slide on it anyway. BUt yeah, the bukilding will hopefully be done this summer. And if we're real lucky, we'll have a war in it this summer. THe problem is that I have to get permission from the Pastor, which is my dad, and my Youth Pastor houldn't be much of an obsticle, lol. And we're probably not going to use homemades seeing as how you could easily shoot across the room with few pumps. O, and there is no real specification to the walls (barricades) that you can make, and it would be greatly appreciated. What'll be cool is each war could be very different by chaging the room around a little. This thing just keeps gettin better.
