Hey there guys,

I'm a small time NERF modder from The Netherlands, who mods NERF blasters primarily for the fun of it... and using them at the office! So far I've modded two Mavericks and a Longstrike, all with pretty basic mods (AR removal, spring tightening, etc.). Nothing fancy.

My latest asset is a Deploy, which I figured could be modded pretty easily, seeing as how it has basically the same internals as my Longstrike (the whole reverse plunger system). Unfortunately, even with the internals pictures at Mod Works, I can't seem to get the two halves of the gun to detach! I've loosened all screws, but at the back of the gun, where the spring for the stock extension meets the semicircle, it feels as if there's a hidden screw or something. A screw which I can't get to...

I'm sure there's one, as the picture below shows the hole where it should be (left from the second spring in the stock):

Does any of you have an idea on how to get this blasted gun to come apart? I really want to mod this baby, but she's giving me such a hard time.

Cheers,
LX

EDIT: for some reason my computer thought it wise to switch boards or something. Can a moderator move this topic to Modifications, please? Thanks in advance!

you only looked for the hidden screws when the stock was in one position.

Look here, it has been covered well:

Aha! Indeed, I started removing screws when in deployed position... THANK YOU!

Well, my Deploy has been succesfully modded! I've removed the AR completely, inserted padding into the plunger to compensate and put a rubber ring around the outside of the plunger to add a little more compression to the spring. Fairly simple stuff. The range is now about 10-15 metres (30-50 ft).

Of course, this mod did give some 'personality traits' to the gun: the rubber ring causes the orange loading slider to end up just short of the end of the rail when pulled backwards. Due to this, I need to keep it pulled back whenever I want to push the disengage button and pull out the clip. Ah well. Also, a small moving part inside the clip holder causes the gun to jam during loading once in a while. I think I'll have to remedy this by taking out that part sometime.

Anywho, a mod well done! Another for my office arsenal (I already own a Maverick and a Longstrike, while one colleague has her Maverick and a Vulcan and another colleague expects her Raider soon)!

Cheers,
LX
