From the bits and pieces coming in, this sounds like a new automatic system from Nerf. If its got '50' in the name, that probably means its belt fed, but the fact that 18 round clips have been seen is interesting. Maybe it will be able to support both belts and clips?
Either way, I hope its not just a re-shelled vulcan.

I did some research. its definately not the same stampede that showed up in the Nerf video game (much the same as the Raider is not the same)

HERES THE FUN PART:
We can usually tell a lot about a gun from its code title.
Most clip guns have the abbreviation CS standing for clip system followed by a number that designates how many darts the clip holds.
The vulcan was the first electronic belt fed system and its abbreviation is apropreately EBF
Note that on the stampede the abreviation is ECS and we already know/are fairly certain that it will be coming with an 18 dart clip.
This tells me that it is an electronic clip system.
The baffling part is the clip size designation of 50 when we know it to be 18.

maybe nerf will release super-super-super-super clips for the ECS 50? I really, REALLY hope it is not a flywheel gun.
i had concidered this but it conflicts with the 18 dart clip.
i know we're not supposed to speculate but:
Perhaps there will be two guns.
Nerf Big Blast
and Nerf Stampede
one with the 18 dart clip and one with the 50
this is where my speculation ends.

The possibility is however it could have two (or more) barrels/firing systems, each using a smaller "big" clip, thus shooting twice (or more) darts without reloading.

There is no way in hell there will be a 50 round box/banana/whateveryouwannacallit style clip. Try lining up eight LS clips and see how far that gets you.

Raider CS-35
You could have said the same exact thing about the raiders 35 dart clip before the drum mag was released.
No one said it had to be a straight clip. For all we know it could be a bigger drum mag or some other new unique style of mag.
On the other hand i do like the idea that there may be more than one clip slot.

Did anyone else gawk at that price? 55 bucks? Who's really going to plunk $50 for a battery powered nerf gun? We know that battery power usually makes it difficult to get any decent ranges. I would be very cautious about this when it comes out.

Also, the HvZ thred is very interesting, though it's possibly shopped/a modded clip.

Also, that seems to show that the nerf big blast and Stampede are in fact the same thing.

Wasn't the Vulcan about $50 when it came out? I don't think potential buyers will be a problem if it looks cool enough.

The "Big Blast" name was likely a code name of sorts. I guess its was always abit of a puzzle why Nerf would even use Big Blast as a name for one of their new blasters, when Buzz Bee already uses that exact same name for their existing blaster.
Anyways, more Amazon links for you guys...

Failing that I think a larger drum would be in order. Or it could be something crazy that takes multiple clips at the same time. I'm betting on a drum or a hopper myself.
A reverse plunger might not be so bad for something like this. It's a simpler mechanism and that means that there's less to risk breaking, and easier modding. As we've seen that modding the vulcan is pretty much pointless due to its complexity, a simpler reverse plunger that could at least take some standard reverse plunger mods would have at least a little potential.
I highly doubt it will be a flywheel simply because the tommy 20 already proved that you just don't need that many batteries to power it. You likely need so many to provide enough torque to pull back a spring.
