It's a writeup. I got it right the first time.

Ok. This is my second writeup on Nerfhaven. My first was the oh so popular Nerf M4 Recon. I got my hands on a Deploy and did some basic mods to it. I will mention now that I broke the light at some point so that is no longer functioning.

MATERIALS

1/2 drill bit or whatever works
Philips head screwdriver
Jar/cup-for collecting screws and such-not necessary
Drill/Dremel
Paint (if you feel like it)

Here's a few shots of the Deploy before we begin.

Alright. Leave the Deploy undeployed to start. Go for the hidden screws in the stock first.

Posted Image

Then deploy the blaster and unscrew everything else except for the trigger handle and the area that holds the clip.

Posted Image

Now you can unscrew this part.

Here's the internals with the light removed and the deployment spring removed.

Posted Image

The plungertube is a pain in the ass to remove so I'll give a detailed walkthrough of the process.

First unhook the tube from the dart tooth.

Posted Image

Then pull the black part that is normally attached to the pump grip out.

Posted Image

You will need to torque your wrist while pulling it because it tends to get stuck on this corner.

Posted Image

Your plunger tube should look like this:

Now drill/dremel the ARs out of the plungertube. It should look nice and clean like so:

Then give it a paintjob. This is entirely up to you. You probably will have to sacrifice deployability for a paintjob. After modding, it becomes harder to deploy. Paint only makes it worse. Mine doesn't have full deployability anymore. But, after a few tries the paint might wear off and it should be able to deploy again.

Putting the thing back together is also a pain in the ass. First screw the clip area back together. Then get it as close to the body of the gun as you can and slip the constant force spring over the hitch with a small screwdriver. Like a really small screwdriver.

Posted Image

Reverse the process of removing the plungertube to get it back in. Here's the internals before closing it back up.

Posted Image

Getting the deployment spring back in is also sorta hard. To do it, just put it in, let it slip over the bottom half of the tube, put on the top half of the gun, and then use a screwdriver or some stick-like object to pull the spring back a bit so it slips over the top half of the tube. Here's a shitty picture of it.

Screw the thing back together and you've got a working Deploy.

Deploy with super barrel extension:

Deploy with the infamous M4 Recon (see its not all black now):

That's all. Comments? Flames? I forgot to do ranges today so I'll have them for you tomorrow.

Not bad sir, though I am not a huge fan of the paintjob. My suggestion is-Breech it, and add a RFSG spring---the results are more than impressive. I have a plungertube reinforcement write-up in the works to address this blasters major weak spot----coming soon.

I will look into that. My paintjobs suck because...well I suck at painting so I just through a few colors on. I only have the drab colors, too. It's better than the original M4 Recon though....

I don't have bright pink, but I do have fluorescent traffic cone orange.

You removed the AR and painted it. This is precisely what the modifications/paintjobs topic is for.

I was trying to address some of the things that were hard to do when modding the Deploy. As I stated in the write-up, it's a pain in the ass to take apart and put back together. I was just trying to give a detailed explanation of how to do things that some people would have trouble doing while modding it.

Thats fine, but those specific issues, and others were addressed in my Deploy overhaul Write-up.

Well I read your write-up to do the basics of my mod, but I noticed other issues that were a problem for me personally that you didn't address. That's why I did the write-up.

You used 17 pictures to explain how to unscrew a nerf gun, and now you're having a conversation with rogue, on the boards, about who should get credit for a deploy mod....

I'm done with this thread.
