Ok, the horsemen are holding a small war on April 18th, on our turf. This is the first war we've run ourselves, and held in our area in a good long while. We plan on holding several throughout the summer. This, being a test run of sorts, will be a bit different than usual. First of all, it is an invitational. Meaning what? Meaning if you're invited you've been told already. This is simple a forum for the invited few to let us know whether they can or cannot attend, and for us to provide any additional information that they may require.

If you have not been invited and you would like to attend...well tough shit. Our invite list is by no means static and polite inqueries or requests will probably work for the next war, but this one is, like I said, a test, and therefore controlled.

Again, the date is the 18th of april. The location is one of two parks we have not yet decided between. However, we will all be meeting on the morning of the 18th at my house for breakfast and a briefing of sorts. So you see, youreally don't need to know where the war is until then.

Please direct all questions about the war here.

We still have feelings for you CX, but, it's complicated. We'll always have Mogadishu.

Ok, as Vacc and I start to recieve questions via PM and AIM we'll be posting the answers here for everyone to see. I've already gotten a few that I'm going to cover. I'd recommend enlarging your browser window to max size for easy reading.

1) Are the rules going to be the same ones we always use?
Ans- Yes and no, since this war will be serving as a test/archetype for future wars we hope to host there will be several new rules we'll be implementing.
**4:20 Hit Set- 4 hits per round, 20 second count in. During the last 5 seconds you may ask any adversaries to clear the area however you must count in a loud, clear voice.
**Counting In- While counting in from a hit you must hold your primary gun clearly over your head, this is to help reduce the confusion in battles and allow each player to be able to quickly and easily assess who is a threat on the other team as well as who is availble to help on their own.
**Dart Collecting- While counting in you may pick up any darts in your immediate area however you should not leave from the general location in which you were shot.
**Death- After recieving your 4th hit you must place your weapons in a designated "Safe Area". You may leave the Safe Area to observe the rest of the game however you must do so from a difference and you can not enter any areas of conflict.
**Skims/Gun Hits- Skims and Gun Hit rules will be thouroughly explained and agreed upon on the day of the war.

2) What should I wear?
Ans- Wear whatever you are comfortable in and is appropriate for the weather. All that we're requiring is that you wear sneakers with adequate traction to prevent slips and falls. I should mention now that neither of the locations we're playing in are wooded so wearing camoflage/dark colors won't offer any tactical advantage but you are more than welcome to wear it if that's what you're accustomed to.

3) What about ammo?
Ans- What about ammo? The Horsemen will have a surplus of Mega sized Stefan darts that are optimized for our guns from which you can borrow some for the day but we're still encouraging everyone to bring their. We don't want to hear any bitching if our darts don't fire well out of your guns.

4) What are some of the places we can order luch from? Can we get Ice Cream?
Ans- ALL lunches will be ordered from a prechosen local Sub-Sandwhich Shop/Pizzaria. Fixed prices for half/whole hot or cold subs and pizza will be posted here before the war. Potato Chips en masse will be provided free of charge as will water. Bring your own cups/ water bottles. No fucking Ice Cream. If you have any special dietary needs or concerns please contact me.

5) Why are you guys being such dicks about this whole thing?
Ans- We're trying not to be but we have our reasons. We have no obligation to list those reasons but I'm letting you know that our goal is to help make Nerf more enjoyable for everyone in the NJ area.

I'll be eating my fiber and ruffage the night before the war. There will be no rapid bathroom excursions for me in the middle of the war. Damn delicious medium-rare, greasy 12 oz. deluxe cheeseburgers.

Langley is in charge of my nutritional intake. I will be eating those potato chips, though...

I've already said that both Josh and myself will be there. If Evil can't come, I'll arrange to pick up Andy.

Question though, what time is this love fest starting, or more importantly, what time do you want me at Vacc's house?

6) What time do you want me at Vacc's house?
Ans- We'll be expecting everyone to rally at Vacc's between 10 and 11 am. Both of our possible war locations are within a mile or two of Vacc's house so it won't take us long to get our freak on once everyone is assembled.

7) Are any guns going to be banned at the war?
Ans- Homemades will of course be banned. Also, any modded airjet weapons (1k's, 1500's, 5k's) will be subject to inspection for safety reasons. Let me put it this way, if your gun is shattering sunglasses at 10' away it's not gonna be kosher.

8) Should we make it a point to bring any specific guns in particular?
Ans- Wow, excellent question. I was hoping someone would ask and it almost seems too coincedental that someone did in precisely the way I would want it phrased. Yes, if possible I would like everyone to bring a single shot pistol. SS2's, LNL's, TTG's, NFinders, 700's, any of these will work. No, a 1500 is not a pistol no matter how much of the casing you cut off.

I hope this was as informative for you all as it was for me. {Removed insulting remark because I'm now in a better mood}

Famine and I have been discussing the upcoming war a lot lately. The fact is, we plan on experimenting quite a bit in terms of war types. We have some new ideas we're working on and some older ones we're improving, and we intend to have at least 2 original war designs ready to go on he 18th. The reason I'm saying this is because I want to reiterate once again that you will all, more likely than not, have to bear with us at some points in time during the war. I just wanted you all to know this because I know some of our nerfers tend to get impatient between battles (understandibly so), and you should simply be prepared for slight delays here and there.

This is not to say that we will stall wars, or permit them to fall apart or postpone play at all, but as with any experimentation some improvisation and problem solving will surely need to occur. We generally like to run very relaxed wars, in that everyone is open to new ideas and willing to try them out. This does NOT mean that we will tolerate laziness or generall jack-assery, only that we assume everyone we've invited is mature enough to have their shit together without any proding when the time comes to do shit.

In summary, we need alert levels to be very low (say lavender) , and trust levels to be very high.

Since I feel about 45% of that was direct at me, I'll comment. I don't mind you guys working shit out or taking breaks. It's general laziness as you said that pisses me off. But you already knew that didn't you?

Actaully, I'm really looking forward to this. I'm interested in these games you guys have up your sleaves. Maybe we'll try a few out ourselves if there are any really good.

Question, horsemen and your airsoft holsters, where did you guys get those things, and what gun were they made for. I'm getting pretty tired of sticking the damn things in my pockets, so any advice would be helpful. I suppose there's always duct tape too.

Sounds good. Just as long as I get to shoot at people. I'm open to all sorts of crazy new ideas, but if you think you're going to have to give a lengthly explanation for some new game type, after which we all discuss the finer points of the rules, in spite of which we all get confused about the rules in-game, and subsequently stop the game to clarify things, then maybe we should get all that out of the way now.

Afterthought: Considering how the battles the horsemen organized at March war went, and who's going to be comeing to this thing, this probably isn't going to be a problem. I anticipate this being the best organized event I've been to yet. I guess I'm just playing devil's advocate.

9) Where did you Horsemen get those sexy holsters that you use for your LnL's?
Ans- As far as I know they're tactical hip holsters designed to fit most .22's, 9mm's, and maybe some Glocks. Any store that sells Airsoft, Paintball, or Law Enforcement/Military supplies should stock them. Death and I got our's specifically from some shady guy at our local flea market, he seems to come and go depending on how much "The Man" is hassling him. The holster also fits a TTG pretty well.

On a side note, as Vacc stated he and I have been discussing this upcoming war quite a bit. As we bounce our ideas back and forth we're trying to keep everyone's perspective in mind and try to consider how everyone is going to react to events and gametypes as they unfold. We just wanted to let you all know that. I was going to delve a little deeper into what some of our specific concerns/ideas are but that's Vacc's department. I'm trying to stick to straight up Q&A.

Just to let everyone know, I'm pretty much open to any ideas. I don't really care what we play as long as we FUCKING play. I can't wait to have a round where I don't hear about the cold.

Also, I'm glad talio asked about the holsters, that's been on my mind for a while. I need something for my NF, cause my LnL has a home on my xbow.

Well this is what planning is for. We will strive to iron out the confusing details, and only present wars whose rules are concise and more or less intuitive. We're not gonna show up and just make shit up dude, we want these wars to work, and possibly be repeated in future wars, so we will design them in a manner that we feel could possibly work. Now true, we will not have a chance to field test these ideas before hand, but that's why we're telling you guys just to be prepared to relax and take this day as it comes. If you do that, I forsee no problems for anybody. We will likely post details on these war types some time in the next week, so keep an eye out.

If I'm missing some pressing question, this would be the time to tell me.

Alright bitches, we're less than a week away so I guess it's time to get down to the details.

First let me get the last of the Q&A wrapped up.
10) Is it mandatory that we wear any protective equipment?
Ans- No, we assume that everyone invited is mature enough to take responsibility for their own safety. Wear whatever you think is appropriate and comfortable for you to Nerf in.

11) Can I invite ______?
Ans- At this time Vacc and I have decided against extending invitations to anyone who has not already recieved one. Our reason for this is since this is going to be a bit of a trial-run for us we'd like to keep the group small and limited to people whom we have had experience Nerfing with. If all goes well then we will be introducing a system for future wars that will allow an invitee to bring one guest for whom they will be held personally responsible. The actions and behavior of the guests will then have a positive or negative impact on the standing of their "patron" Nerfer.

12) Do you know where we're Nerfing yet?
Ans- Once again, we have established two possible play areas and will scout both within 24 hours of the war prior to making our final decision. I would like to take this time to remind you all that either location will be likely to have some muddy and/or slippery areas given the amount of rainfall expected this week. PLEASE WEAR SNEAKERS/BOOTS WITH ADEQUATE TRACTION. Accidental slips and falls are our primary concern at this time.

Now, to everyone who has been invited. Please PM me (Famine) within the next 48 hours with your final RSVP along with: Whether you are driving, who you are riding with, who your passengers are, which area you will be generally coming from. What (if any) supplies you will be bringing or needing when you arrive at Vacc's.

Once I have recieved everyone's reply (VIA Nerfhaven PM PLEASE!) I will post the appropriate directions in this thread before Friday night. Expect Vacc to provide you all with a more detailed post outlining some of the new game types we have in mind before then along with some other details.

Ok, so famine and I have ironed out the details to the original war type we want to try at this war on sunday. This is gonna sound a little complicated, so stay with me.

You begin the battle with 2 hit-points. These hitpoints are played like all our wars, west coast style. Once you exhaust both hits you move to what we like to call purgatory. All this means is that you put on an arm-band or marker which we will provide and now have only 1 hit point. If you lose your 1 hitpoint once in purgatory you are dead until the game is over. This is where it get's interesting. If you are in purgatory and send another player to purgatory (score their last hit before they don the arm-band) you move back into the world of the living with 1 hit point and remove your band. When you lose that hit point you move back to purgatory again. You can move back and forth between purgatory and the land of the living as many times as you meet the above criteria, but once you get killed in purgatory...well then you're dead bitch. The last person not permanantly dead is the winner.

Please ask for clarifications, you can't all possibly get it. Nothing is set in stone.
