Well, I finished modding my SM1500. I plugged the hole in the pump, swapped the barrels for 1/2" copper inside 1/2" pvc piping (7" long) and this thing is lethal. It shot through cardboard... I have yet to test actual range, but it's looking brutal.

Here are the pics:

Not in the game anymore, but it was great while it lasted. Thanks for the great years of fun, NH!

hehe nice, you might want to think of wrapping some electrical tape around the barrels to hold them together a bit. -_-

Yeah, I might do that, though I already glued them to the black piece that in the middle. I'm also gonna paint it flat black and the barrels gloss black.

What kind/size of copper tubing are you using? My 1/2'' copper tubing doesn't fit into PVC at all. Copper doesn't really fit my foam well either, but if your copper is a different size, that may not be a problem for you. Also, it looks a bit heavy for the barrel assembly. I can see the barrels sagging in the pics. Other than that, it looks like a very nice job. Have you tested ranges yet? If so how do they compare to the traditional brass ranges?

CrazdMonkey: I used 1/2" Type L i think it was. It is the one with the thicker outer wall and slightly smaller inner diameter (compared to the Type M). It did not easily slide into the PVC.. I sort of had to pop it in and then hammer them down. (I also sanded the inside of the end of the PVC with my dremel a tiny bit and it made it easier to pop the copper in. )It made a great fit though, super tight. The foam fits great; I can stick it in with ease and then blow on the barrel to push it all the way down. The barrel assembly is a bit heavy and you can see it does sag a little bit, but I'm gonna tape the ends of the barrels together for a closer fit. I'll test the range on it soon and let you know.

Nice job (except for the fact that you used copper, my most hated barrel material), it seems that it may be a bit tip heavy, so you may want to create and arm brace if you got a weak wrist. Post ranges for us please.

Well, I did a rough estimate of the range (roof tiles = 2ft) and it went ~90 feet not counting skips. I'll post some more pics up when I finish painting it and adding the stock. Thanks again.

Might wanna cut an inch off the barrels. It probably won't sag as much. Mine is exactly the same, except that I used 3/4" CPVC instead of 1/2" PVC, and my barrels are 6" long. Shoots through cardboard no problem. And for the love of God, please resize your pictures.

Well, I made them 7" because my 6" brass+pvc sm1500 ocassionally causes darts to spin out. I resized the pictures too, sorry guys.
