Initially when i first saw the description of the Nerf Big Blast: 50 Darts without reloading, 6 D Batteries etc... i thought it sounded more like a beefed up Vulcan.

But then the part in the Big Blast Mission Kit that mentioned... "exclusive 18 dart clip, 18 clip system darts" ... got me thinking otherwise. It might actually turn out to be a whole new auto dart chambering system.

The mention of a tactical shield adds even more mystery to this new product.

Imho, this new blaster would indeed be very interesting to see!

If anyone has more info on the Nerf Big Blast, do share the links. Please avoid speculative rumours or hearsay, keep to actual product info from online retailers. B)

Wow, the 2 product pages have been removed!

Looks like that info wasn't supposed to be released yet. Just like what happened at Entertainment Earth website too. B)

I really don't like the sounds of this, even if half this is true. It's probably just all speculation, but seriously? Tactical Shield? The fact that it takes 6 D batteries makes it likely too bulky to use in a war, and it most likely won't shoot far, likely operating on gears pulling back the plunger, therefore requiring a pretty weak spring as to not break the gears.

Well on the Nerf Facebook Page they already said that the Big Blast isn't a Vulcan 2.0.

If I recall right the only electronic blaster that used clips is the Spartan NCS-12 which is from the Nerf video game.

I know this blaster is not likely to be made, but you never know they did pull the Longstrike and the Raider from the game.

I don't remember where this quote is, but isn't Nerf claiming that the 9-9-10 blaster will be completely different from any of the other n-strike guns? 6 D-cells should be more then enough to operate an air compressor or something crazy like that.

Even if people don't want to allow a new official Nerf shield in their games, the 18 shot clip should go over pretty well.

Edit: I don't know why the Spartan would need electricity. I always figured that if it actually got made it would be a longshot with a special mechanism to shotgun load 3 darts at a time.

Also, thanks for copy and pasting the articles before the links went down.

I thought about an electrically powered air blaster before. The only problem I see with it is the cost aspect. I dont know if Nerf wants to make a blaster that costs more than the Vulcan.

From the forbidden planet website, it said that the blaster was going to be $49.99. So I think that it will be more expensive then the Vulcan.

In most places yes it would be. I didn't see the site so I wouldn't know what it said about the price. I still think that a compressor would cost a little bit more than that.

In either the Nerf Twitter or Facebook (forget which) they said that it wasn't the Spartan and that they had no plans to make one.

They said the 9-9-10 blaster would be something totally different and new, but...well, I don't really trust that. They're just hyping it up.

The name is not only generic, but it's been used already by Buzz Bee! I mean, seriously? Who's the one in charge of naming the new blasters?

The way I see it, this new blaster probably won't be all that and a bag of chips. It's battery powered for one thing, which I don't like at all. It's another clip system gun from the sound of it (or at least, from the mission kit associated with it). This all just seems boring and it's probably going to make for a mediocre gun.

The guys at Hasbro are probably pretty pissed now that the secret's out. Anyone who cares about this gun and has internet access will know all about it by the time it's "unveiled." I can at least chuckle at that.

It makes sense that Hasbro would continue using the clip system, after all, it's part of the whole "tacticool" scheme they got going.

However, chances are that this information is false or not entirely true.
Remember, when Hasbro says completely new and different, they are NOT referring to internals. I wouldn't be surprised if the 9-9-10 blaster turns out to be an automatic recon.

There's not going to be an air compressor in this blaster. Why would Hasbro do that?
