I took apart my friends RF-20 to remove the air restrictors and now I cannot seem to put the gun back together. Specifically, I am not sure how to put the white plunger just left of the rotating barrel back in the gun in the proper way. I took some pictures of the gun, around the area I'm having trouble with. Also, some pictures include a white cap with two springs on it--I can't figure out how to put that back in the gun. Thanks for the help!

Here's a link to some pictures on Photobucket.

That cap goes on the end of the piston, it seals against the turret.

This sort of thing keeps coming up again and again. It's amazing to me that you kids have the capability to take pictures, at essentially zero cost, but then you just don't. Apparently somebody has to actually state the obvious:

Take pictures while it works! Take pictures step-by-step as you disassemble. Everybody, seriously - learn from the repeated mistakes of others. If you have a digicam, then use the heck out of it.

Oh, well thank you for your words of wisdom. Us "kids" appreciate it. This obviously helps us put the gun back together.

The turret goes in last. Line up the piston, with the white piece in place. The fin on it goes into the slots in the rear piece of the shell. The piece with the springs goes in next, on the end of the other white piece, as bourbon said. Finally, put the turret in, compressing the springs, and screw it down.

I got everything back in the gun (I think correctly). Only one problem, the turret rotates but the darts do not shoot out. I removed the air restrictors (thus the reason for me taking the gun apart). Any ideas what might be wrong now?

Don't remove the air restrictors completely or the base of the turret won't seal with the barrels. Just use pliers an remove the posts, then cut or drill out the X's.

If you threw out the air restrictors, you can cut up stock nerf darts into 20 foam rings. Slip the foam rings over the nubs the air restrictors used to sit in, making sure not to block the airflow. If you need a picture I can get one but it's pretty self explanatory. You might have to glue them down because they don't like to stay in place.

I don't get my kicks out of you,
I don't feel the way I used to do.
I know its bad,
After what we had,
But I’m just not the angel you knew.

If you didn't take any pictures yourself, the "Official Internals Directory" is right here:

It's stickied in the Modifications forum. It's there for your reference.
