So I hear these things are pretty powerful.

My question is, how powerful, compared to say a Titan? Which holds more air/greater pressure? Might anyone know?

I'm interested in the Cobra for possible modifications, but I don't want to go spending $25 on a Cobra if I could just use a Titan for similar results. Any knowledgeable input on the matter would be appreciated.

Edit: Is this what's known as the "Jobar," or something else? It's quite a bit cheaper (on Amazon anyways), so I'm interested in that as well.

Edit 2: The second one has a lot of 1 star reviews on Amazon. Apparently it has some pretty significant quality issues. Something to watch out for.

The Titan will send a micro 300 feet and beyond easily, one jackass at a local war broke his tank so he replaced it with a steel pipe and removed just about any sort of safety system (pressure release valves, inefficient airflow pathways, pressure restriction valves, etc) to fit the damn thing. Over the 40 minute main round, I kept hearing a zipping noise and eventually cursing. After round's end, one of the guys asked if he'd gotten any kills. Apparently he couldn't see his darts when he shot them from any angle. We got a cardboard mat and used it to see if his gun was actually shooting, the guy shooting pulled the trigger aiming at the bottom half of the cardboard and that micro dart made a whistling noise went through the cardboard and though one half of a plastic container.

It turned out that the barrel was bent, and combined with all that speed it was likely that douche bag was shooting over our heads the whole round.

I'd go with the Cobra, unless your looking for a Volley Gun the Titan can be dangerous especially if you mod it.
The Corba shoots 150ish, the Titan shoots into infinity and beyond. However, nobody's had their eye protection penetrated by a Cobra, the same can't be said for those singled Titans.

The Cobra is safer than the Titan. The Trigger will probably require some work though, as it wasn't build for shooting.

*Edit: apparently we've replaced all words that stand in for "repins (Spell it backwards)" with douche bag. Oh well, I can't complain about that..

Thanks for the reply, however I said I was interested in using them for "modifications;" I never mentioned singling them. If I ever singled a Titan (or anything that powerful) I wouldn't shoot it at anybody.

I was guessing that this Drain Blaster would be more powerful. If it's not, as you say, then I'm not going to go spending $25 on it.

WHAT?!!!! The cobra is way more powerful than the titan. I've tried them both with various different kinds of ammo and the Cobra always has more range (and the titan was pumped 40 times with no OPV).

If you are interested in the tank, the cobra tank is about 3x bigger than a titan tank and is more durable because it is meant for higher pressure. Higher pressure=higher range. If you wanted to use it in a war, you would have to shotgun barrel both of them regardless.

Cobras are alot more powerful, and they take less pumps then a titan.

Generally micro darts have an inherent velocity limit due to weight and aerodynamic imperfections that prevents them from breaking one sixty or so, unless they're incredibly heavily weighted. I don't believe you.

Plus, Cobras have way more air volume.

One last bit: Before he solvent-welded an OPRV in, Zorn's Big Blast went through three sheets of cardboard held up to the gun, through another cardboard box on the ground, and buried the dart in the dirt. And it wasn't breaking two hundred.

Yeah, this has to do with a lot of things. The size of the tank, the pressure the tank can hold (that you can put into it), the size of the hole where the air escapes, the type of air-release system, etc.

TC, please elaborate your question. Either that or go out and buy both of these. Personally I'd say the Cobra is nicer on it's own for modding, but I'd get a Titan combo pack for the same price around here and that's worth more to me. Eventually I'm sure I'll have both of these guns as they both have their own unique features.

I saw a topic posted on NHQ maybe a year or so ago by Bob about the Jobar, and later on he analyzed the Cobra. He said the Cobra's tank (fucking huge) is 750 mL, and the Jobar's is 400. Here's where Bob reviewed it. The Cobra's on the fourth page.
As for the Titan, I don't know the exact air volume, but it doesn't compare to the Cobra or the Jobar. The Cobra is rather unwieldy as a pistol, and the only way it'd be effective to me is with an RSCB; although that would be even more awkward. In my eyes, they're more shotgus for shits and giggles.

If you were to choose one, get the cobra or a BBBB. Cobras are much more compact and efficient, just make sure you use mega/mongo darts instead of taggers/micros. Really, you never need the range of a titan, so use any of those blasters as long range shotguns.

I've taken the cobra and created a barrel for it for shooting multiple stock darts. It shoots 7 front-loaded whistlers from a honeycomb pattern of cpvc barrels roughly 60-70 feet flat, with a tight spread. Obviously rear loading it and/or using stefans would greatly improve this, but I only do stock wars. The eventual plan is to mount 2 of these monsters on a pvc frame to create a sort of Nerf artillery system for scenario games. You'd basically prime it, aim in the general direction of the enemy, and annihilate several people.

As a side note, all the "modding" that needs to be done to this thing is to epoxy a 1/2 PVC coupler over the nozzle. It's such a perfect fit, it was meant to be. The cap on the pump handle screws off, so I've tinkered with the idea of threading on an extended pump tube and extending the pump handle, but haven't gotten to it yet.
