The Urukai Crossbow can achieve 100+ ranges with very easy modifications. However, with most modifications of this blaster, the rate of fire is rather abysmal. The aim of this modification is to add a breach but maintain the 100'+ ranges this blaster can achieve.

First, ope it up

It's so nice and simple.

Insert a piece of thin wall pvc into the front part of the plunger assembly and secure it. (I did this with a bit of E-tape) This will reduce the dead space inside.

Also, put in a dart stop at the back end.

Now for the breach/barrel.

Take your barrel material (i chose CPVC, 18 inches) and use another pipe that is tight around the barrel material and place 1.5 inches of around the barrel. Now, cut a notch near the back where you can easily insert a dart. tape off the back with a bit of e-tape (as a dart stop).

Now, take your barrel and fasten that smaller section of pipe and nest it tightly on the outer part of the front plunger assembly.

Now, put the gun back together, including four bungies, and you are done.

I've never seen or heard of the urukai crossbow. Where did you find it, and what company makes it?

We don't have military tactics or specialized training. We're fucking kids playing with plastic guns trying to tag each other.

I remember you mentioning this in #nerfhaven recently. I seem to recall someone else with similar plans for theirs, but dang this is a good job.

I need to finish mine as soon as possible; it's literally some goop and some dremel work away from completion. I really do love these things.

They are a promotional blaster that was released alongside the Lord of the Rings trilogy. They are long since discontinued, and are fairly rare.

Koree: glad you got around to posting this. Hopefully I'll see it on Saturday.

Cool gun, but the cool thing about the design is that you can just shove a barrel all the way down the plunger tube, to make a relatively short primary. With the breach, you have created a crazy amount of dead space.

Still awesome though Koree. I miss you. So where are we gonna Nerf this saturday?

Wrong.

The breach goes all the way back into the gun. Allowing only 2 inches or so of cpvc dead space. I'll see you tomorrow. :)

So the breech itself moves? Very cool, good job.

From what I understand, the cpvc slot you see in the "open" position slides back all the way to the back of the gun, like any other normal breach. This would have only a little bit more deadspace than just a simple barrel.
