Hey kids!!

I was going through some of my old photo's and came across some that I took of the BritBow, so I thought I'd load them up and give you a walkthrough of how I did it:

ONWARDS!!!

Firstly, start with a xbow that has seen better days
Posted Image
Now, slice that bad boy up so at least it's something like straight. This in my case included slicing the grip off.
Posted Image
Now grab your recon, and slice it up like so:
Posted Image
Cool no?
You're also going to need to trim the recon's handle down
Posted Image
Now add two strips of perspex. It's about 5mm thick, which should do the trick. Superglue them the plunger tube supports
Posted Image
Here's a close up of the trigger setup:
Posted Image
Posted Image
Now glue everything together and fill the gaps with metal reinforced epoxy
Posted Image
To finish, order some of the greatest internals from draconis and finish with a patriotic paintjob
Posted Image
Hope you had fun. I sure did...

The finished article -
Posted Image
Breech - 1/2 sch40 PVC and thin wall petg
Posted Image
Airsoft sight that actually works. But it's not glued on yet.

As a Die Hard Canadian, there would be nothing worse for me than to be shot with a Union Jack.
On topic, I realy like the paintjob. How many coats idid you use?

One black base coat, one white base coat and then the union jack was hand painted on.

That's the plan. I have got one in stock form, but I can't bring myself to mod it.

Yes even us die hard Ontarians are really hate the brits too...

Canadian separated from UK peacefully, unlike the USA, there shouldn't be real hatred against the British, except for BritNerf...

Looking nice Brit, definitely needs the 2k in there

When I saw this on NHQ I thought you butchered a crossbow shell for the hell of it. Way to save a broken xbow. Are you going to hook the Recon slide up to the AT2K pump? Sure, your pump stroke would be a little shorter, but it'd be a shame to give up having an awesome shotgun foregrip as the pump.

Well, I'm on the west coast, but I got Brit family, and they are complete douchbags.
Brit - Was the black coat nessecary? Could you get away with a couple coats of white?

Possibly. I only had a bit of white left, so the black help in that respect.

You did good putting the black primer on first, because I had to coat my ls like 4 or 5 times with white primer, and still the yellow shined through the primer.

I like the patriotic paint job, I wouldn't do it because I live in a shitty country with a shitty flag................

That is extremely clean, especially compared to the shitty shape it was in in the first picture. Very nice work.

I like it! I find the crossbow handle uncomfortable compared with the rest of the gun, and this does a good job of fixing that problem. Splendid job old boy!

Holy shit, that it sexy.

Why the short AT2K barrel though? Didn't want to have to breech/ramrod it?

Yep, that sounds like Canadians to me... But then you guys get that from the Brits, certainly not the French.

It's the only spare brass I had left. I may consider a breech of some kind, but you can just blow the dart down to the end of the barrel (it's a loose fit)

Great use of a shitty crossbow shell.

I just fixed the leaks in all the tubing. Now, the OP in the pump is kicking in at 6 pumps. Which I find is quite impressive from the size of this pump...

Ranges are at least 50ft with a streamline and 4 inches of 9/16th brass.

You pull the pin via the recon's jam access hatch. I will be hooking it up to the recon soon. Hopefully

YEY! Double Post!!!

But not to fear, this is a valid post/update.

I've gotten quite good at the whole breech thing:

The barrel is 17/32 brass, a tight fit on stock streamlines. I can't even guesstimate ranges, but it hits my biscuit tin target VERY hard...

You should switch to 9/16" brass then, since you have that on the At2k. Or, put the PETG breech on the 2k and the 17/32" one on the xbow.

I know. This was more of a 'does a breech need to be here' test, and its the only brass i had. Im thinking sod it and just have a traditional barrel.
