I've searched the site for solutions to my problem, but I can't seem to find any... my powerclip's clip refuses to advance. I've tightened up the screws, and I really don't know what the problem might be. Anyone else have the same problem and have a solution for it? It would be much appreciated. (Or if I missed a previously posted topic on the same problem)

If I remember correctly, back in the days of Nerf Online, there was some troubleshooting threads on the PC, but those are now long gone.........

When I had a PC, I had a similar problem. Try checking all the air hosing and connections. Also, try lubing up the insides of the firing cylinder with Vaseline. This cylinder piece is mounted right behind the clip itself.

Alright thanks. Although I did check for leaks or anything, and it seems to be alright. I'll also try lubing up the cylinder right behind the clip; I got this gun free from a friend so I have no clue what has been done to it. After closer investigation however, I found that the actually green part that advances the clip as well as the small wedge-shaped thing that secures the clip after it advances are quite weak, and I think that if I expand on the clip-advancer thing (no clue what to call it) and replace the spring in the wedge that secures the clip it should work again. Any thoughts on that? If there's an alternate way to do it, it would save me alot of work.

I'm sorry, it's hard for me to fully visualize fixing the Powerclip. I used to have one, but it went beyond repair. Now, after getting more experience modding, I know I can fix it. I regret throwing it away. At least I still have the clip.

Anyway, I am not sure what else can be done to get the advance working again. Anyone else have ideas to help Oompa out?

The powerclip is a tricky beast. From my experience, assuming you have the little plastic bit that advances the clip in the right position, it's probably a question of clearance. There is extremely little tolerance in the fit of the clip for it to advance properly. Try slightly tightening or loosening the various screws in the front half of the gun. Check the little spring-loaded square things in the side of the case that hold the clip in place. Try lubing it with silicon spray.

Actually, the problem I belive is that it is actually missing a piece... If I'm correct, since I've never seen powerclip internals, there is supposed to be a little wedge-shaped piece on each side of the powerclip to secure the clip. Unfortunately, one of them is missing... I have no clue where it went, so I have to go and find it, hopefully. However, I think if I cannot find it, my powerclip is a goner  .

Or I have a similar idea. I have this book somewhere in my house that describes a recipe on how to make your own plastic out of house hold substances. As soon as I find it I'll post the recipe and it might work also.

Those things fall out easily and some PCs come from the factory with one missing. Sucks, but there's not much you can do about it except hold the gun upside down when you fire it.

Ok, here is how to fix your problem, i doubt that you are missing a part but what happens with some powerclips is that the clip does not fix tightly enough in the gun and the clip just slides back down after going up. what you do is put two strips of electrical tape on the edges of the clip. this is hard to explain but here we go... they are the two edges that stick out from the front of the clip and you want to fold the electrical tape around both rounded edges so that the clip fits more tightly into the gun. Good luck.

yeah that's the problem I have, but I do actually think I'm missing a piece, I have one of the clip holders but not the other one... but I'll try your suggestion nonetheless. Thanks a lot.

Instead of firing upside down, you could be super ghetto and pull the clip up as you shoot, and pray you get the timing right. :) Or hold the clip to the side with the intact clip holder, so the clip can't fall back down.

On a more serious note, I think you should take the gun apart and put just a small square piece of wood to act as a spacer, not a functional replacement piece. Sounds like your clip has no support on the side with the missing piece, so it leans that direction and falls back down.

yes, that's exactly the problem! You described it best. I think I'll do something like that, except use a spring and make the wood shaped like the holder so I might be able to get some support. Thanks for all the help guys!

I'm having a powerclip problem myself. I just got one new in box, yet when I pump it the recommended 12-15 times, the clip only advances through five, six or seven darts and then gets stuck. It seems the little green thing with the black flipper doesn't want to go forward after that. Is my gun using more pressure for each shot than it should be somehow? That's my best guess. Please help if you have any suggestions. I can repump it and finish off the clip almost. Please help if you have any ideas. Thanks!

Upon further review, I've discovered it happend to come from the factory without one of the things that holds the clip in place. So if anyone knows a particular method of fixing it that worked for you, (looking hopefully at ompa) please let me know.

I'm trying! Kind of busy though, hopefully this weekend I can try to fashion something similar to the clip holder out of plastic or something.. I'll post again if it works out (or doesn't).

Edit: Alright, I got really frustrated with my powerclip and just screwed the whole thing back together so I could work on it another day. But before I put it away for sure, I tried it. Somehow, it works! I think if you screw in the screws just right, it somehow can pull the clip up.. Don't ask how, maybe I just got lucky. Anyone else have this happen to them? Also, if anyone could send me a picture of BOTH sides of the powerclip, that'd be great.

After fixing the seal on the purple part behind the trigger with some goop, the powerclip works fine again. I glued in a sawed-off chunk of a Stefan as a placeholder for the side without the tracking wheel, etc. Seems to work okay.

I had a similar problem with my PC. My clip only advanced to 2 shots. It could be that I did the removable clip mod, but I'm not sure. It would be nice to figure out how to fix it... I'm trying to see if it was a trigger problem, but I'm not finding much. It could also have gone bad because I put rubber bands around the airtank. Did anyone else use these mods?? They could be part of the problem...

No, neither of those mods should cause any problems.. if anything, it's the tightness of the screws, or the thing that holds the clip when it advances may be broken. Check both of those first. Also, it's doubtful it's a trigger problem unless there's no air coming out.

Well, I figrued it out. The piece that connects to the pump tube to the air tank was cracked and leaked air. In this case, I was losing air when I pumped the gun up. I had to break the thing off, and pull the plastic thing out of the tube. In order to do so, I took a razor and had to cut a piece of the tube off. I'm looking to connect it again with some sort of brass joint, but I'm not sure it will work. Then again, this may be a whole different problem... ^_^ Once I fix this, I can work on the clip again. I'm pretty sure I just put the gun back together too loosely. Hopefully the PC will be resurrected, and will be back and kickin...

You should've just used some plumber's goop to reseal that purple part, if that is indeed what was leaking. Too late for that now though if you already cut it. Sigh.

I was thinking the same thing, only it wasn't the purple part. It was the little yellow joint connecting the pump tube to the airtank. Somehow it cracked and it didn't look like anything would seal it, so I had to break the joint off. I was going to use a sort of brass joint to reattach it the the airtank, but that wasn't going to work, so I'm going to use some superglue and a barbed joint to reattach the blasted little thing. The thing is Nerf made the tubes so close together that it's going to be a hell of a time trying to get the superglue in the right spot...

Eureka! My PC is back in working order. After several attempts to locate and plug a pin-sized hole with some plumbers goop, I finally fixed it. The makeshift junction works like a charm. My clip advances now as well. It took long enough, but I got it... ;)
