So I'm just finishing up my version of KBarkers nitefinder rifle and am having so difficulties. I just can't seem to glue together two nitefinder rods you use to cock it. Any suggestions on what glue I could use?

I used and continue to use gorrilla glue super glue. Instead of JUST gluing the 2 rods together, here are 2 good options:

1.) Use strips of coat hangers to sandwich into the grooves on either side.
2.) Make a new plunger rod out of 1/4" or thicker Polycarbonate or other material.

Those are great ideas! I'm going to definitely try the coat hanger one but if that fails do you know where i could pick up some polycarbonate?

I just took a coathanger and cut it then put the wire in grooves then super glued everything together.

I'm probably going to try that then thanks guys I appreciate it. I was spending to much time trying to glue those pieces together

Thaygor exemplifies the first idea. That's what you want to try first. If that doesn't work. McMaster-Carr is where polycarb's at! Or I could sell you enough to make one, or even make one for you. It's like $12 for a 12" X 12" peice of 14/" polycarb.

If that doesn't work drill a small hole through the two plunger rods put glue all over a coathanger like they said and stick it through the two holes. Once again only use this method if you think you 1. have the right size drill bit and 2. if you're really good at drilling. I did this and what they said just to make sure it would stay.

Thanks whisper I will try that idea first but if it fails I will come to you polycarbonate

Polycarbonate is NOT ideal for plunger rods. It tends to have problems with breaking while priming. 3/8" square nylon rod is about $4 per foot, but it is a substantially better material for this application.

McMaster Part 8732K13: 3/8" square nylon. I've used it for this exact purpose. Its fantastic.
