I think that upgrading the light in the Nite Finder, as OMC and you have both apparently done, is very cool, I will have to try it myself some time. I'm worried, however: how long is AA battery life with that kind of juice flowing? It sounds like you would need to replace them frequently. Otherwise, it's a great idea. The dart firing from a Nite Finder isn't extremely fast, so any way to confuse them when you fire is good. Though, it might be annoying if you're trying to be stealthy for one shot.

Okay, what?? I think that is what we're trying to avoid here, it's Nerf combat with foam darts. Besides, you would have to actually hit the retina directly with the focused beam from the laser pointer if you wanted to temporarily damage your opponent's eyes. Also, make your pistol into a 'trap'? What is that all about? I mean, we all wish we could be James Bond, driving our cars with our watches and other neat stuff, but this seems unrealistic. First you have to find a way to remotely switch on your strobe gun, then hope your enemy is foolish enough to come charging in for you to flank them somehow.Laser pointers do damage to retina . . . Another trick is to use it as a trap. Set it up to fire and give away a position only to be flanked by another group or yourself in hiding.
In general, I have reason to dispute the legitimacy of this modification.

But who knows? Maybe I'll be blind in ten years.
I also used to use a camera flash to try and blind people, but this served no purpose in outdoor wars, given the distances. Indoor wars would be dandy, though.

That's bad news for a friend of mine, he shined a laser pointers in both his eyes, just to disprove the theory, for about fifteen seconds and does it all the time to show off.Dude I wouldn't shine the laser pointer at my eyes anymore because I read something that said the effects of staring at a laser pointer happen in several years and if you look at it long enough you will go blind.

I really doubt the risk is so huge in terms of use on a Nerf gun, though. The chances of causing eye damage with that laser is at least on par with the chances of causing eye damage with the darts themselves.

We've played with a strobelight on once at around 12:00... Everything becomes split into frames. One frame the dart is five feet away, the next frame, it's in front of your head.
Anyways, try the idea out and come back with results.

Two acre plus warehouse? What company do you own/ run?I recently bought a 90,000 sq ft building to move my corporate headquarters into, which is only using about 15,000 so that has left the other 75 for some rather great battles, so this gun gets a lot of use especially at night.
That's a big honking building. Build airplanes, maybe?
Anyway, the strobe type bulbs (usually xenon) require some kind of capacitive power supply to trigger the extra bright flash from the tube.
Perhaps the disposable camera idea, with what I can only guess is a small capacitor to build/ discharge the high voltage, could fit in the NFs small confines. Worth looking into. Flash-bang....pretty cool.
