I've been talking to someone at Nerf again recently and they asked me to put up links to their social media pages. I figured there will be at least some of you who would be interested in this. Just keep in mind, you can't talk to them about modifying Nerf guns. They can not legally have that kind of discussion. So if you want to keep up with Nerf and you don't plan on going to these sites to be an idiot here they are:

YouTube

Facebook

Twitter

I think it's a good way to keep updated and maybe we won't have to have 20 page long topics guessing what a gun will be like. Again, please, be on your best behavior. Our site having a good relationship with Nerf would be awesome and every step counts.

Talio.

I totally agree that it would be nice to have a relationship with NERF.

And if I might add, don't spam the pages with demands for crossbow rereleases and for them to make less inverted plunger blasters.

Lets hope this doesn't start an argument over how much nerf pays attention to us.

This could really help us gain valuable info about new guns earlier than ever before. LiterSize is right; bombarding nerf with petitions isn't gong to do any good.

Nerf

We embrace Nerf in its truest form and reserve the right to remove any posted or uploaded content containing profanity or inappropriate content, or Nerf product modifications...it'll be outta here faster than a Micro Dart.

Be careful. I hope they dont remove all the mod videos.

Dude, calm down. They're only referring to any content uploaded to the fb group, not across the entire internet.

Someone should post a picture of a stock Crossbow on their Facebook, just to see if anyone in nerf has been working there for more the 15 years...

Alright, fresh off the fb page. Don't want anyone to get their panties in a bunch, but here ya go:

"Wow. Well when you put it like that. We've actually heard a lot of praise for the Crossbow and would love to have it back in the game. Any specific reasons from Nerf Nation that we should take back to HQ with us?"

This was posted today in response to some people asking for Xbows. If you have some intelligent reasoning besides "We can mod it better!" then there ya go.

I think I just lost control of my bowels. As for an argument, probably say something like to draw some of the older Nerf audiences that remember the nostalgia of the original Crossbow, or its simplicity that would appeal to smaller children. *Don't mention anything about the internals* The only reason why I think they wouldn't take that into consideration is their new Milspec sort of appeal to little kids that want to be like soldiers, which the Crossbow would'nt fit into; and the fact that since they won't break for the most part, they wouldn't sell as many.
But that really is a fantastic breakthrough in terms of progress towards an Xbow re-vamp.

Meh. More like shoots multiple types of ammo, reliability (noting Longshot and Vulcan), relocated barrel is always interesting.

Good stuff. Another thing that might appeal to them is that it would go well with all the new swords and axes for some midieval themed play. Also, how comfortable it is to use.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the Battle Axes and Swords. I don't see why they wouldn't consider it if the person that replied on Facebook brings it up; I mean think of the Big Bad Bow, that really doesn't fit with any of the current, but they still make them, and recently revamped them with the red plastic.
Honestly I think a re-released Crossbow looks good in Crimson Red.

The first time any of those Hasbro dudes looks at the crossbow they're gonna chuck it right out of the window. The stock design is foolish at best. Fortunately for us the crappy design is perfect for modifying, but they're not going to take that into consideration. Of course they would probably sell a couple of thousand just from this site alone.

Good point, though that doesn't mean they couldn't re-make it, i.e. keep the basic shell design but modernize it with a new plunger, barrel in the front, maybe make the shell closer to the current design theme. The things that make the old design bad could easily be re-done, after all, we do it.

Surprisingly, I would not really like it if they brought the crossbows back. They would become terribly obsolete because EVERYONE would have one, and, in my opinion, they would get boring as shit. I think that most of the joy of owning one comes out of the knowledge that not very many others have it, either. Yes, I do own one, so do not bitch and moan at me.

Anybody who thinks that owning a crossbow, due to it's relative rarety, in any way shape or form makes you special is missing the point. Exclusivity is not a valid merit for a stock nerf gun.

And if I hear someone make the argument that "I paid 3 figures for mine", I'm just going to suspend their account on the basis of stupidity.

Just to add to the Nerf presence on the internet:

The Nerf Dart Tag League that ran last summer (where people got the first look at Furyfires) is following the Mt. Dew Action Sport tour again this summer. The company running the tour (Alli Sports) finally posted the dates AND locations of the tour stops:

From
Alli Sports on facebook!

**SUMMER DEW TOUR STOPS

ANNOUNCED** June 25-26 Skate Boston; July 23-24 BMX Chicago; Aug. 12-15
Portland; Sept. 16-19 SLC; Oct. 14-17 Vegas

So, no Jersey or CA stops this year. Also no word yet if they'll be mixing up the blasters or if it'll be Furyfires again.

It has been a few weeks since the last person posted on this, but I thought I had to tell Groove something. Death by Foam is on the Facebook Nerf group's gallery. That is all.
