In agreement with dizzyduck, I highly suggest that everyone take a few minutes to read this article.

While I certainly don't acknowledge the continuation of this argument, I felt that everyone involved should be aware of preceding events.

That's actually really interesting. I hope we'll see some different stuff in the future.

It seems weird though, how he said that pressurized air blasters didn't have as much modding potential.

I know that some have questions so here you go:
yes same plunger as the recon
no the stock is not removable
the range is same as the LS
I dunno how comfortable it is but id base that on the stock size, not up and down, left to right
one clip in the breech, two in the stock

go to SG Nerf blog spot and the mod work...search Google, a few
people have a problem thinking of Google for searching for stuff like this

That article was imported from NerfOnline, which means it's more than 8 years old. I haven't suffered the embarrassment of reading it in a while, and I don't think I will now, but I'm pretty sure every prediction I made was dead wrong. Hasbro was in the middle of recycling it's larami molds under the nerf line, and the powerclip and wildfire were all the craze. Shit, I thought snap bracelest would never go out of style.

With this info I won't be spending the $30, If I had cash and time to burn though like Vinnie D. said, I think there's a chance of putting the longshot guts in this shell just for a different look.

I know this thread is kind of old but I was looking at the internals and had a mod idea.

First one must find a spring in similar diameter to this spring but longer (able to reach to the back of the gun)
Alternatively, the stock spring could be really stretched.
Then just remove the spring rest and replace the spring. This would give a good inch or two more space for the spring to rest in and compress.

Is this possible? I would try it best down here in Australia, we won't be getting this gun for another good 6 months.

Eh, not a good idea.

On the bright side, the front attachment to the Longstrike , with some manipulating, allows room for a Vulcan tripod. It does nothing for functionality, but hell if it doesn't look cool.

Yes, extending the spring to end of the gun by getting rid of the useless "Primed" window would increase the speed and power of the plunger. It would not however increase the volume of air. Not sure which is more important but both are desirable.

Since I actually have a longstrike currently, I think I'm going to perform the spring addition, and the removing of the spring rest. We'll see how it goes.

It's gonna suck, because no nerf gun is accurate, except for MAYBE at 5 feet ranges.

Just opened it up. Its like a recon, except worse: There's really no way that I can see to add another spring.

There's a plate at the back of the thing you can cut out to add a stronger spring, or another spring.

Like the recon, the spring would need to be perfectly sized- "OD" and "ID"

Note before my computer completely dies, and hopefully someone reads this:

I'll probably not be on for, like, 2 weeks from 2/12, so yea. Virus = 1 My computer = 0.

Or you can do what I did to my Raider when I first got it:

Just take another Recon/Raider/Longstrike spring and lace the stock and addition springs together.

Works like a charm.
