I reinforced my nightfinder with sheet metal on the area where you could see the orange plunger tube. Now, I'm aware that exposed metal isn't too good (same goes with brass and such), and I need a way to cover/fill the sheet metal so it is protected/not exposed. I can then also paint over that area. So my question is, what can I use to neatly and evenly fill/cover that area? I'm afraid bondo will be too much for these two small areas.
Hotglue, then cut it smooth with a razor.

You can bondo however small an area as you want. Just mix a really small batch.
