Well, i decided i'm going to post all my homemade ideas in one post to reduce space. Starting with:

Pump action, spring gun.

Well anyway, the first thing i detirmined with this is that i'm not going to cut any grooves. I hate cutting grooves, so it's going to end up looking a little funny. What i decided for pipe lengths is: 1/2" Low PSI PVC pump-grip sliding on 1/2" CPVC pipe. At the end of the grip will be a T-piece and a 90 degree bend. Attached to the bend, facing towards the handle would be a piece of pipe. The actual air-chamber part would be 1" CPVC. At one end would be a 1" - 1/2" CPVC reducer, at the other end, the same. The end facing towards the handle would have the ridge that holds the pipe in place sanded down. This would allow the 1/2" CPVC, which would function as the piece that holds the O-ring and has the catch part at the end, to slide freely. At one end of the moving 1/2" CPVC, there would be a hole, allowing for the catch. Interesting idea for a catch: Toggle bolt on a normal bolt, with the normal bolt attached to a mounting T. When you pull down on the mounting T, it pulls the bolt down, thus pulling the toggle bolt down as well.
Spring could be either compression or tension, but as of now i lean towards tension, because compression springs are a tad harder to find. However, if i get a chance to go to one of the more local hardware stores, i might pick up a decent compression spring.

Comments, questions, concerns, suggestions?

Okay, this is interesting.
I built something...that works! Not too well, it shoots about 40 feet, but i could get it up to 60.
It uses compression springs. What it is is a short piece of 1" CPVC with couplers at each end. At one end is the barrel, which is 1/2". At the other, is a 1" to 1/2" reducer, sanded down to allow 1/2" CPVC to slide through. The next piece is a piece of 1/2" CPVC, a little longer than the 1" CPVC section. At one end is a 1/2" coupler, which holds the two compression springs back. Also, attached to the coupler is a 5/8" OD rubber gasket. Although there is no trigger, it works for now, but the springs are so stiff, its hard to shoot without a trigger, which i plan to add. I was really suprised that it shot 40 feet, but it does. Its slightly bigger than a AT2K.

Well over 9 days I think that I'd forget to edit too. I mean look at the date of the first post he said and then his second. They're 9 days apart! Cut him some slack.

(edit) check out this homemade. http://www26.brinkst...ndD/shotty.html

It's by zero.

Look, Jpshyboi9 and Oroku_Saki, the reason he "double posted" (as you to call it) was not double posting at all, there was no use for the edit button. He posted twice in a row, because after nine days normally your post won't be on the front page within the "20 active topics." So, since people are to lazy to dig through old pages, he posted again so that his topic could hit the "active 20" and people could see his ideas, and respond to them. It wasn't double posting kapeesh?

Oh and jboi, you should also use the edit button, fix the capitalization errors, and the "sum."

Edit: OMG!!!111one!!1 i used t3h edit bu7t0n i r0x0rz! ph33r my m4d ski11z !!!!11!!!

Actually, looking at what you described, I don't think that topic bumping is allowed here. Is it, Cx?

If a topic gets buried under the 20 active threads listed at the front of the page, it is still going to be read or discussed by people, as long as people have something to say.

I didn't yell at tex for double-posting. Usually, I don't yell at people unless they really bother me. I only made a polite request for him to use the edit button.

When you're adding significant content and it's been awhile, I don't have a problem with creating a new post. It's not really a bump because there's new stuff added, and there's no point in editing a post after a day or two because nobody will notice the edit.

So... it's fine, don't sweat it.

I'm trying to help this guy becuase of him double posting for a good reason(to keep his topic fresh). I was trying to also get to the point why he doubled. God man, can't we all just get along? I mean he double posted....whats wrong with it anyways? So back off aoijsdaof_saki....what ever your name is!

Oh and saki dude, you didn't NEED to recomend editing if he didn't do anything wrong. It's you!

aoijsdaof_saki....what ever your name is!

The irony will NOT end! It just keeps coming back in the words of the unwary like some horrible strain of VD that cannot be seen by those with it.

Okay I learned my lesson. After looking at what tex posted, he did indeed double post for good reason. Can you people stop bitching now?

I don't get why some people have trouble spelling my username. It's right in front of you when you post. Oh well....

Consistently mispelling user names is just passive aggressive flaming. It usually ends sooner or later with account termination. Sooner if they're mispelling my name.

Oroku_Saki was following a strict interpretation of the rules, and was reasonably friendly about it so don't go off on him. Now we all understand that sometimes double posting is fine.

shyboi, you're getting too angry about this whole online thing. Why don't you take some time off, see the countryside. Your excitability will get you in hot water here so learn to cool your heels and just take things in stride.

The rest of us will attempt to do the same...

It's just that, since I'm a newb and don't always post right, I get yelled at for something perfectly fine and don't get a chance to fix my mistakes.

Well it isn't like they yell at every newb. I think I was only yelled at 1 time and it was because I said something stupid and VACC had the right to yell at me for it.
