Hey all

just wondering for a project I'm thinking about: does an at4k tank and setup produce more air? It it more powerful that it's predecessors? I guess what I'm asking is which atwhateverthousand setup wii giveme the greatest ranges?
Or ifyou have any other setup suggestions that you think would give me even better ranges please let me know...

No, all of the AT tanks are pretty close to the same size. The range increases you have seen lately are all due to well executed mods. Turret seal is one of the most important factors.

This is very true. I've been working with 2K's, 3K's and 4K's of late, and really the 4K isn't much larger than the 3K. They are all very similar in size, but the 3K has just a little more strength due to its lower amount of deadspace, I've found. Still, the 2K is the most simple, hardest to mess up, and smallest, but if you want power go for the 3k.

(Btw, Edit) My ranges on my McNumber's style 3k went up about ~40 feet when I got a good dart fit and created a 99% air tight seal with the turret.

Ryan said that the 4K's

airtank is huge, slightly bigger than the 3k and almost twice as big as a 2k tank.

Yes, as Wing'd said, the 4k tank is the biggest, causing it to hold the most air. The 4k tanks, as stated in Ryan's 4k Overall, are nearly twice the size of a 2k tank and a bit larger than the 3k's.

The 3k tank is definitely the best out of the three. The 4k tank has a much smaller valve opening than the 3k or 2k. Even though the 4k is slightly bigger in size, the increased air flow from the smaller 3k tank makes a lot bigger difference. I was getting low 100s with the 4k, and my 3k shoots 140'+. There isn't anymore dead space in the 4k than the 3k. They are about equal.

So 3k tanks > awesome. I'm going to go take some pictures of the three tanks side by side.

EDIT:

Here's some pics

Left to right:

AT4k, AT3k, AT2k, SM1.5k

As you can see 2k tanks and 1.5K tanks are identical.

With great volume comes great responsibility, and barrel length needed to fully utilize that power.

Also, somebody correct me if I'm wrong, the working pressure of the tank is important. A lot of volume at a low pressure is inferior to somewhat less volume at higher pressure.
