[b]I was experimenting with different weighting ideas for stefans and I thought about using the flat ended thumb-tacks. The thumbtacks ended up working fantastic, and even better than the washers i was using. Here is what they look like.

I put glue on the top of the stefan, and then stuck the thumbtack into the foam and held it there so it would touch the glue.
These new stefans get better ranges than stefans with washers.(for me at least)

Hope you like it.

First off, this is very 2004. Second, if you shoot anyone with that I hope they beat you to a bloody pulp. Put some fucking hot glue or felt on top of that thing.

Then what happens if you shoot a wall with a powerful gun and the dart breaks and the thumb tack flys off and hit someone with the tack part?

First of all that probably wont happen. Secondly any stefan shot from a powerful gun will breaak eventually. And thirdly I tried it and it is pretty secure.

You're still ignoring the fact that you are shooting someone with bare metal.

It more like a thin plastic over the metal......Its no different than using washers.

No, it really isn't. Slug Darts use a felt tip to cushion the impact of the dart when it hits your body. As far as I can tell, felt is a soft, cuddly material. Hard metal/plastic is not.

You, sir, are a moron. The real problem here, besides the fact that even if the dart functions perfectly it's going to hurt like a motherfucker, is that often enough, darts come apart under the stress of being fired, and you get hit with dart heads. The point on this thing could cause some serious harm.

Here is an Idea, why not cut the sharp spike off of the tack, yes that would be like using a washer but if you really want to use thumb tacks this would take away part of the danger. Seriously though, you need to put felt over that.

Yeah really, every moron knows that anyone can step or fall into the sharp end of the tack EVEN when it is covered with foam, the tack may have come off, or the tack punctures through the foam, so it is dangerous to use.....

Even if they don't hurt that bad when you shoot them at people, I really hope you don't plan on using them at any public parks. Nobody ever finds all their darts after a war, and when old darts start falling apart and stabbing kids playing outside you'll probably have the cops called on you every time you go out to nerf.

That is actually a good idea. If you cut off the spike, hot glued the thumbtack into the foam, and then hot glued a small piece of foam onto the tack this could work, but really it's up to whoever's running the war.

Wouldn't the thumbtack with the spike cut-off be to light to function properly? And why going through the trouble of cutting the spike?

Yeah, a singled ls with a +bow spring can break skin, i had this happen to me, so any hard metal/plastic headed darts just freak me out, so either felt them or hot glue them, end of story

Alright, I'm putting the kibosh on this shit. It's a dumb idea and if you ever come to a war I'm hosting with those things, you can pack your shit and leave.
