I'm thinking of doing trying some modding myself, but the only Nerf gun I have is the Recon. But, I figured that I would get some modding XP from the N-Force swords. Would they be possible for modding?

Think about this. If you want to mod a blaster like the Recon, you will not learn anything to prepare yourself by modding swords (what would you do with a sword, anyway? Most mods would probably just make it less safe) because they are two entirely different things.

True, but being a beginner at modding Nerf weapons, I just need want something easy to start off on. Also, it would cut down on having to buy a new gun if things went wrong

On the basis of modding the sword, just really wanna change the look (thought about turning one into the Buster Sword from FF7)

You rely don't need to mod the swords, they already get at lest 110' stock.

Wow. You really think that way? I bet people would pay to study you. Swords and blaster are two entirely different things with nothing alike except who makes them. Maybe if you read some good modifications on this site you understand that.

Anyway, if you were really bent on doing something with your sword, I'm sure you could figure out some way of attaching it to one of your Recon's tactical rail accessories as a sort of bayonet. It's been done with the LS scope but it could be interesting. But the previous comments were correct; nothing from "modding" a sword has anything to do with the sort of modding we do on this site. Generally speaking of course.

I would suggest buying a 6-10 dollar nightfinder. They're easy to mod and can give good experience. Swords give no real modding experience. Well, unless you were to somehow put an air gun inside of the blade, and have it fire out of the tip. That's be cool. But that's not gonna happen with a recon.

Thats like taking a baking class to learn how to make guns, listen to wisp. Get a NF, there are plenty of easy mods that are going to make you a solid secondary. Then you can move on to more advanced mods on bigger guns for a primary.

I took the 2 worlds and made them one in a functioning gun blade/knife. I took the blaster component of a Switch Shot and PETG'd it. Cut down a broken sword and slipped it over and glue. Now you got something like the Spetsnaz Knife from MGS.
It's real simple and if you play with melee (Like I do) they work well enough. Then you bring it to a war and it ends up in some goosecrap/mud thing.(You remember huh Ubermensch?)

Yeah, I guess it could be said that the swords could be "modified" by integrating a blaster into them--however, this won't gain you any real modding "XP".

Echnalaid's sword thing was pretty cool, though.

If you want to improve the N strike swords, replace their cores with a carbon fiber rod, preferably sheathed in some vinyl tubing. This will make it more durable. You can find carbon fiber rods in hobby stores. Or you could buy a high quality boffer weapon and have something even better than the N-strike swords and that will last a lot longer.

Strongblade.com No it's not nerf, but it's still foam and good for hitting your friends.

Just fyi I bought this one.
