Here's a video

I know that there was already a tank dissection thread, but I thought that this deserved it's own thread because I know there has been some talk about the LB internals on IRC recently (a few weeks ago). This thread also contains a lot of information. If many people think it should be moved then I am fine with that, but please don't make this thread about that.

I have had many problems with this Lightnin' Blitz over time so I decided to cut it apart and share my findings with you guys.

Here is what one of the Lightnin' Blitz air chambers looks like...

The bottom part of the sealer does not allow the sealer piece to come out of the air inlet.

EDIT: I messed up on the animation. The piston should be tapered the other way. Instead of looking like this... V.... it should look like this...^.

Some more pictures of the valve:

Please feel free to ask questions. Also, please watch the video before asking questions as it may answer them. Thanks.

The shaft of the piston is not really tapered, is it?
The drawing pretty clearly has it that way, but I've never seen a piston valve with enough taper to notice.

It is tapered, just not as much as in the animation. In the video, I blow on the non-piston side of one of the air tanks and the piston extends outward but does not fall out due to the cone shape of it.

EDIT: Oh wait. I messed up in the animation. The piston should be tapered the other way. Instead of looking like this... V.... it should look like this...^. Thanks for pointing that out Bob.

Thanks for posting this Cheezy. This is kinda what I imagined it to be like, but it's nice to have it confirmed. Maybe I'll actually do what we talked about and make a ridiculous mid-range blaster.
