Hey, first off i want to give credit for the idea to Rork. This is a totally different mod, but is based of of his. Now to get to the write up. As you know, the mega missile has great potential but the incredibly small pump and plunger tube is extremely annoying and impractical for wars. Also, i thought Rork's idea was great but i wanted to be able to take the plunger out and thought the giant bike pump was good, but could be improved. So i experimented with different inner diameters of CPVC and PVC and found a perfect airtight fit for the plunger/O ring assembly.

What you will need for this mod is:
Mega Missile
Glue of your choice (make sure it is strong)
However many inches of 1 inch(inner diameter) PVC. I used 5 inches.
Steel, Copper, Aluminum etc... Rod
dremel/drill
1/2 inch CPVC coupler (optional)
barrel material. (differs on type of darts used and your preference)

Now for the pictures.

First start with a stock Mega Missile:

Then open it up:

You want to cut off the orange barrel completely. I don't think that needs a picture.

Then you take out the plunger tube and fill in the over pressure release valve with glue.

Next is simple. Just cut whatever length of 1 inch PVC you want as flat as possible. Then cut the original plunger tube off as flat as possible. After they are both flat, use glue to connect them to create the new plunger tube.

Now for the new plunger rod. First, take out the small plunger rod leaving you the plunger and the handle. Then heavily glue the metal rod to the plunger and then slide the other side inside the handle grip and glue. Now there is your new plunger rod. Make sure the rod length matches the PVC length. If your confused, the pictures below will hopefully help explain.

Your almost there. The last step is to use a drill/dremel or whatever else you want to do to cut a hole in the back of the gun to let the plunger tube out.

Posted Image

The optional part is to glue a coupler onto the hole that the barrel used to cover. Also to get a faster air release, you can glue the trigger and the firing pin together. Then close the gun up, and your done. Here is the final product.

I know i did not do the cleanest job but i bought 2 mega missiles. One for practicality/use and the other for a clean mod. Hope this helps anyone out there. Once again, i do not take credit for this idea but i do for this exact modification. Comments and constructive criticism are welcome. Good Luck! -Cappy

How does it shoot?

Nice mod, but is there anything to stop the pump from coming out when you pump it or no?

I also really like the paintjob.

Is the gun singled or is it CPVC couplered and youre using a PETG barrel wrapped in E-tape?

Awesome mod Aaron! So is the 1in PVC a really tight fit on the plunger and you needed to lube, or was it similar to the orginal plunger tube but slightly more airtight?

Again, great mod and the paint job is sick to.

Oh by the way, do you still have that stock Mega Missile that you said you'd sell me for 6 bucks? I'll bring 6 bucks to school tomorrow if you bring the gun. I'll just sneak it in my backpack before science class starts haha.

The chances of one person taking a bomb on a plane are one in a million. The chances of two people taking a bomb on a plane are one in a trillion. So if you're scared of a terrorist attack, bring a bomb on a plane.

I did not put in a stop for the pump but i like it that way so i don't have the pump hanging as i aim/shoot. I just slip it in a pocket. But if you wanted to put in a stop. Just drill a hole through an endcap that fits on the PVC and glue it in. That will be worked on for the rev 2!

Also thankyou, I think the paintjob turned out nice. It is couplered, but the reason the petg is in there and has e tape on it, is that i was testing the ranges of the gun with CPVC and a airtight petg and i got it airtight in the coupler by putting E tape around it. i will be using cpvc though because it got 5-10 more feet. Thanks!

Its almost the exact same fit as the normal plunger tube if not better, so there is no extreme force to be applied. Thanks. I like the PJ too. I still have the gun. idk how ill get it to you in school? Talk to me on fb chat.

I really like this. I've never like putting bike pumps on guns, to bug and clumbsy. How many pumps do you need?
I agree that's one nice paint job. What kind of paint do you use?

Thankyou very much. I also don't like bike pumps. It takes 1 pump for close range and 1.5 to 2 gets full capacity and range. It all differs on the length of your plunger tube though. I first started using krylon paint but i tried out Wal-Mart brand spray paint which is half the price and i actually like it better. So i use the Wal-mart brand spraypaint now and then a krylon clear coat to prevent paint scuffs. Thanks.

That will be worked on for the rev 2!

I'm still a newbie here and I'm curious, what do people mean when they say rev 2?

I know that rev for the Maverick and Firefly stand for "Revolver" (i.e. Maverick Revolver) and the cs for the Recon and Raider stand for "Clip Shot" or "Clip System" and the number at the end always stands for the ammo capacity. Does rev 2 mean a revolver with a 2 round capacity? That would be awesome for a missile launcher.

It means Reversion 2 well I think it does. Basicly A newer version of it that should be better than the last

Nerf killa is right. It means revision 2. So the Rev 2 will look cleaner, work more efficiently, and and be more practical in wars. Its a simple mistake. No embarrassment in asking.
