Ok so I have spent the last month moding a power wheels silverado to look like a warthog from halo 3( heres the link to my project page http://www.modifiedp...TOPIC_ID=12115). After completing it every one says I should add a turrent to it, after spending a hour "discussing" it with my wife she said yes (me 1, her alot more). So I would like to use the vulcan, because it is almost perfect with a bit of modification.

So First thing I need to do is replace the 6 d batteries with 1 battery that can be cliped to my belt or if its less heavy and smaller then 6 d batteries and put it in the battery compartment. its just too heavy to put on the mount or for my son to hold it(hes only 3).

Secondly I need to mod the tripod so I can mount it(that doesnt sound right, bow chick wow wow). I would still like to be able to put it on and take it off quickly. Also adding berrings so It can turn 360 horizontally and 90 degrees vertically.

Third maybe is any mod to make it better, such as removing air restrictors etc.

Fourth is adding a shield pate and three barrels.

Lastly I will paint it gun metal with olive acctents.

Any help with this would be great, Ive madded a few guns but never as indepth as this is going to be.

First: A 12 volts Rc battery is not that heavy and can be mounted on the side or even inside the gun compartment

Second: you could just take off the tripod's legs and mount some brackets on the tripod pivot, the gun will still be removable and can turn all directions.

Third: Thats up to you, there are discussions around here about removing the internal air restrictor, because it's said it doesn't give more range, there aren't much mod's to do to give it more range, thats because of the limited plunger draw, the strenght (weakness) of the electric motor, and the shear complication of the firing mech's design.

Fourth: the gun cannot take 3 barrels, it needs 6, if you want them to be functional.
You could build a fake triple barrel design and fire from the middle "rotating pin".

The rest would be up to your skills, post pictures when finished, I'm a big Halo fan :D

If it helps you any some camera tripods work great for replacing the vulcan tripod. They allow more flexibility, and most have a pin that can hold the vulcan on better than the puch buttons on the vulcan tripod holds it on.

I'll give you credit that modifying power wheels is a cool thing and I think it's sweet that you're doing this for your son. But no one is going to do this for you. You have to figure it out on your own. That's what we do here. We modify guns and post them on the interwebs. Also, just because you're doing this for your son doesn't mean you get to neglect the rules. You need to search for Vulcan mods. Again, I commend you for doing all this for your son, I think that's great, but it doesn't warrant you special treatment.
