RECAP

Posted Image

We are returning to Newell park this Halloween to Nerf and freeze to death.

Time: October 31, 2009 from 10am to 5pm
Location: Newell Park
Host: Daniel Beaver

We'll be playing the usual rounds: Team Deathmatch, Multi-Team Deathmatch, Wingman, CTF. We can also do special rounds such as Defend the Core or Team Powerball if someone has equipment for them. We don't have a set schedule, but I'll try to include a variety.

There are no gun bans. Just be sensible and safe when using your blasters -- remember, this is supposed to be fun.

We will stop for an hour or so to head out for lunch.

Remember: Nerf blasters hate the cold. Try and include some reliable equipment in your arsenal.

A clarification:
I am not instituting any regulations on dart construction. I would, however, encourage everyone to try to make felt or foam-tipped darts. I want to see how well they work in a war environment.

Attendees:
Daniel Beaver
VelveetaAvenger
atomatron
tatertotguy
venom213
Eh_Watt?
Nerf Bros
themessiahpsg1 + the LCB

looking forward to this, for pistol rounds are we should have restrictions (springers and less than a certain range).

It's not going to be that cold...(maybe).

Me again. Count me as a maybe (again), I still need a decent primary (again). But! I may be able to rig one up by halloween, hopefully. What would I need to bring for team powerball/defend the core? I may be up for bringin' some stuff. Again (again), I only have about 100 stock darts, but I am working on that.

I would really like to attend this and meet all of you. You seem like a lovely bunch of people.

As you'll see on MWNC, my little bro can't make it but the elder half can if Scott can.
And everyone who shows up in costume is awesome!

As per the discussion on MWNC, I would like to use the following rules to define a "pistol":

1) Is normally held in one hand
2) Fires a single shot before it must be re-primed
3) Shoots less than 65ft

This is mainly to outlaw Nitefinders that shoot 80ft, since I feel they are over-powered in pistol rounds.I will allow unplugged airguns in pistol rounds if you can demonstrate that they don't shoot farther than 65ft (I'll bring a 100ft tape measure). I would also like to make an exception to rule 2 for unplugged Splitfires in pistol rounds if they shoot under 65ft.

Thoughts?

If both shots shoot about 40ft, I would be ok with it, but otherwise that seems like breaking rule #2 outright. There needs to be advantages and disadvantages to each.

I wouldn't mind as long as I could use my minimized doubleshot as well. It isn't a big deal though since I have a TTG that fulfills all three rules.

I see no problem with you using your double shot. It's not like it shoots 65 feet. It's hard to aim, and its not crazy overpowered. Honestly, thats like my favorite gun to see used during a pistols round. It's totally legit.

The Splitfire seems like it could be allowed, just have it's power cap be like 20 feet less than any other pistol.

I'll probably be able to attend, so put me on the definite list. Now I have at least a little motivation to work on my current project.

Awright!. Looks like team powerball requires some laundry hampers. I could bring one or two if needed. Just throwin' that out there.

Raise your hand if you are surprised...

All jokes aside, too bad.

Beaver, the Mega Missle tank you gave me will be seeing some action. I finally found something to put it in. The bottom half of a recon shell makes it look dead sexy.

I'm glad someone is putting it to use. I hate to see a good airtank just sit in my closet.

I would like to have a dart factory/mod party sometime before the war. Some of us are going down to Chano3, so I would love to do something before the 17th.

How does Thursday afternoons/evening work for you guys? Atomatron and I had talked about doing something then.

Well, that works for me. I don't know how me parents will react to "Hey, can I go over to meet some random people that I've never met and you don't know at some random person's house?" But, if you get BobRedShirt to go, that would increase my chances greatly, since we actually know him. No offense to you guys, of course. I'll go PM/facebook him now.

No. But, I might be a friend of that friend. I'm not a super close friend of Leif, but we're cool.
