When I pump up my SS2, even if I pump it really fast, it leaks from a full tank to nothing in about 7 seconds. If I pump it up, then quickly insert a barrel (8" CPVC) into the coupler (loaded with a dart), the leak then pushes out the dart. Even when I used my very thick darts which are very difficult to push into CPVC, the leak still gets the dart before I can get a chance to aim and fire. I tried spraying lube into the front of the tank but that just doesn't work. I know that all SS2s have a small leak, but because this is a different kind of leak (one that keeps leaking even after the gun is pumped to full air capacity), I thought I should ask.

Any comments/suggestions/questions are welcome. Thanks.

You definetely have a leak in the front of the tank. Try finding the leak and filling it with a bead of hot glue or epoxy.

If I filled the leak with a bead of hot glue or epoxy, the valve would not be able to move anymore. Also, I already know where the leak is coming from...It's coming from the valve. However, thanks for the suggestion

Check if there is something keeping the valve from fully closing. There may be something like a small piece of adhesive on the front of the sealing surface.

This seems to works on most back pressure tanks I've worked with. Take your silicon lube and spray it into the pumptube without the pump shaft in it. Then pump it up once and fire. Then repeat (minus the firing) and just let it sit over night. This has workedfor me and may work for you.

If all else fails put some water through the system, and then apply silicone spray.

I used to have a couple of SS2's, one of my favorite nerf pistols btw, and yes they tend to have leak issues especially after chopping the barrel or removing the dart peg. What you need to do is try to clear any debris that may have gotten into the air chamber, water and silicone may do the trick, but another handy way is to cover your barrell with your thumb, pump up your SS2 and let pressue build up in the barrel as it leaks out the air chamber. Then pull the tigger and quickly remove your thumb at the same time. With any luck this will help blow out whatever is causing the leak. Do this when the gun is dry, before running any liquid through it. It may take a few attempts to clear out, but it usually worked for me back in the day.
