Typically, 15 year olds (such as myself) do not experience back pain. I have had extreme problem with my back for almost a year now, and am wondering if it could be from hunching over my work table for about 10-15 hours each week. Does anyone else in the community experience this same kind of pain, or pain from the neck? I am just trying to find if this pain is nerf related. Sorry if this sounds stupid, but it was meant with all serious-ness.

It may be from being hunched over for long periods of time like you said. My dad is a cyclist so he is hunched over holding his handlebars for hours a week. He too has been having back problems, not as bad as yours sounds though. He is 48 years old so age must be contributing to his back problems.

Poor working posture can indeed lead to repetitive stress injury and pain. If that's the cause, then it's definitely going to be reversable at your age. It took me 35 years of bad working posture to develop RSI symptoms. Avoid all "hunching over" for a while - listen to your mom and "sit up straight." I wish I had.

But this isn't a proper place for seeking medical advice. If it doesn't clear up in a few days get to a real source.

Sorry, but I've been dealing with it for such a long time. I was just wondering if any other nerfers had the same problem, that's all.

I have also noticed this, it is difficult to work on something small at a desk while maintaining proper posture.

That and after wars my back used to hurt from picking up darts, part of why I made the Neodymium on a stick*, to eliminate the pain of bending over/crouching hundreds of times.

Yeah I get random back pains on some days.
And randomly I get this pinch on the left side of my chest and it hurts like hell to do anything with my left arm after.
I bet yours is from hunching over.

Yeah that happens to me sometimes randomly except it just happens if I breath too much air or exhale too much air. Feels like something is getting stabbed by a bone or something and it sucks.

When your back starts hurting from hunching over your workbench for a few hours, go to your room and lay down for 10 minutes.

If you end up screwing yourself over like that, you're bound to need to see a doctor about that shit. Shoulda listened to your body. Pain is your body telling you something is fucked up. Let everything work its course and you will be unfucked-up.

I think it's all about posture. I sit modding for hours, but I try to sit up straight.

I used to have that problem until I got circumcised. 15 pounds later I was able to stand up straight.

Yah, i have experienced the same thing. Even if i am hunched over for about 3 hours, i feel sore on my back. I think if you just take a break you will defenitely feel better.

I don't know how your work area is set up, but sometimes all you need is to raise the work surface, or lower your seating position. This will make it easier to set up straight.
P.S. "goatsrecon" 48's not that old, have you ever got your dad to play?

Hey, didn't General Cole used to have this same problem? You should talk to him.

If you are getting sore from being hunched over, than you might want to consider raising your workspace and standing up. It should relive the stress off of your back, if the problem truly is being caused from nerf.

I have to say, the 'haven is usually the last place I go to for medical advice, but since we're here.....

YOU WILL LOSE THE USE OF YOUR SPINE.

Go and see a doctor Ice. And when he tells you that you need to raise your work space, and get more exercise, you will go and do it. Won't you?

Chances are it isn't permanent, and you'l be fine.

I'm sorry, but anyone who goes to A NERF FORUM, instead of seeking medical attention, deserves to lose the use of their spine. That, and it's supposed to be sarcasm.

I bet yours is from hunching over.

It's called precordial catch syndrome. It's common in teenagers and has no real affect on the body. I have it to. It's not really know about since it's hard to catch during the pain.

Alright, enough medical advice. Ice, go see a doctor. I'm closing this thread before someone suggests installing a Poly Carbonate Spinal Replacement.
