If I replace my stock trigger spring in my At2k, to a BIC pen spring, will this increase range at all?

So are you saying yes or no to increasing range? Your post really doesn't help me at all.

No. It will not increase your range at all.

No. It will not increase your range at all.

Then why do people do it in the first place?

You mean the one on the tank? From what I hear, yes. It will increase trigger responsiveness and thus increase range.

It doesn't improve ranges at all. It's completely unrelated to the shooting performance of the gun what-so-ever. The reason people will replace them is that some people find the springs in them too weak not creating enough resistance in the trigger pull and making it uncomfortable.

Plus, if it's too weak and you have a powerful gun, you don't want any small bump to the trigger set it off, so with a stronger trigger spring it will make it less prone to misfires.

I have to wonder how many people in this thread have ever seen the inside of a 2K. I'm a big advocate of "keep quiet unless you have any idea what you're talking about."

Replacing the trigger spring (or putting hotglue on the stock spring) won't increase range. It is done to make it easier to pull the trigger faster because it takes all the "play" out of the movement of the trigger. If you do that, as soon as you start to pull the trigger, air will start coming out of the tank. Of course it depends on what spring you put in it or if you hotglue the existing spring, but that is the general idea of doing it.

As for replacing the spring inside the tank....why would you ever do that unless you're doing a tank expansion like I did with the AT10K? I have never heard of anyone doing that, and there is really no reason to open the tank, replace the spring and then put it back together.
