Ok, I have a gun that I'm going to Angel Breech. My question is if it would be possible to maybe make a sleeve or other device that could make the thing able to exept stock streamlines as all the people that I play with refuse to play with stefans. My idea was to just make the main barrel a size for streamlines and to have a "stefan sleeve" if you will that I could shove in there to exept stefans. I just thought I should run this by you guys to see if there might possibly be a more efficent option. Your contributions are appreciated.

By stefan sleeve do you mean wrapping the streamline in something to make it's diameter larger? You could just modify the breech to use a barrel size that fits streamlines. However, I've never had a streamline shot more than 3 feet out of an angel breech. Also, you'd need to make the breech opening much bigger than normal to allow the streamlines to feed from the blah blah blah...

I don't think it would be worth it to be honest. If all your friends use stock darts then there's no real need to angel breech anything, as you aren't playing around with very long ranges.

I was thinking more like having a higher diameter barrel and then having a smaller diameter tube that I could shove in there. Like a Freak Barrel from paintball, you can look it up.

If you didn't know and account for this already, the reason why streamlines don't work in Angel Breeches is normally because the slot doesn't open far enough to fit a full streamline. Barrel material-wise, a stefan probably has a slightly bigger OD than the streamlines, so you'd want a 17/32" insert down your 9/16" barrel.

Its going to be one or the other. you can't just make an insert to change up your ammo type. Its also going to be a matter of how far your breech is able to open. As you're not going to want to use 3" stefans.

I've found that the difference in diameter between streamlines and stefans isn't too big a deal in an angel breach. The main issue is that streamlines are too long to fit inside. The easiest thing to do is just to cut down your streamlines so that they'll fit - don't bother messing with the breach itself for something that you can just solve this way.

Alright, thank you all, streamlines; out of the question.

Don't write it off yet. I was going to wait until I got home to reply so I could do so with photographic evidence, but I assure you you can do it. I've angel breached both my Recon and my LS and both use stock streamlines. Both have gotten an increase in range because of it.

Which blaster were you planning on modding?

Bollocks.

I have one. that works.

The only down side is the breech is upside down. But it does fire streamlines, and with a stock spring, recon spring, and stock plunger head, I'd guesstimate 70ft-ish....

On a semi-related note, it's true then that you can make a brass'd LS that accepts darts the length of stock darts?

Yep.
The only problem I had was reloading. When the breech locked back, it used to drag the streamline backwards, making it jam. Hence the reason mine is upside down.

Which blaster were you planning on modding?

I was intending to try this on the Raider

TO: Brit
So the gun can no longer accept the magazine?

Edit: Another quick question, does anyone know where I could find the thread for Angel Breeching a Recon? I had it a minute ago now I can't find the damn thing.

Ok, So here's my Recon:

Here is the breech open:

And here is the breech closed:

Finally with the clip (with stock streamlines) partially and fully loaded:

As others have mentioned, the streamlines are a bit long for the standard breech design, but if you cut a smaller half pipe on the rear half of the breech just big enough it allows them to be loaded. Truth be told it doesn't leave much length for the breech to seal, but it does work. I've been getting 37-40ft with this and a bit of epoxy putty to pre-compress the spring a bit.

I have my LS modded similarly (pictures upon request) with a little bit of the rear breach cut out. The mags can be used normally, both the standard and the drum mag from the Raider.

Sort off. It can if they have been modded for stefans, you can just twist the barrel round.

one thing i think is getting over looked here is that after all the effort you will put in to this breech you are still going to get stock barrel ranges. my recon with springchamber and ar removed tags about 60' with streamlines.

Yeah, I haven't seen any proof or even heard any anecdotes that would make me think that the Recon has enough power to take advantage of a clip-fed brass breech. You're overcomplicating things.

Actually I hadn't forgot that, I was simply commenting that it was possible to do. Considering the frustration I went through working on breech for both the Recon and the LS, I don't think I'm going to Angel Breech my raider.

Then again I do have a mostly stock Recon at home (AR's removed, Air Hole on barrel plugged), I may e-tape the plunger tube so it roughly matches my other except for the barrel and do a range test.

I agree with everyone here on one fact: Angel breeches actually add deadspace, so it is not a good idea on a recon, which already has a ton of deadspace. However, doing this:
Posted Image
Is practical. That is apiece of 17/32 brass in the bolt. This did not increase ranges significantly with modified streamlines (I know in Ice's thread, I said it really increased ranges, but after further testing, it didn't do that much) This increased accuracy though. I did it on my raider, and with no other mods (I didn't even punch out the ARs), it hits a 10 inch target from 20ft 30 times out of 35, with hot glue dome streamlines.

I hope this helped.

As we all know stream-lines suck some serious ass. I too don't see why would you use stream-lines in an angel breech. But if you really need to be able to use them, just change the sizes of your brass and since streamlines are too long for a breech go beyond the imagined! Just cut them shorter with an crafting knife or something.
