This is a simple effort to make a Recon shoot stock darts, and it is unquestionably doable.

There are kinks to work out, and there are flaws, but I wanted to present what I have so far.

Stock: no space for the head of a stock dart.


Now we have space.


Stock.


Modded.


Trimming was tricky, but a steady had is all it takes. And a dremmel.


Another angle.


IT FITS!!


The mag needed some trimming as well.


Loaded with taggers and suctions.

BIGGEST PROBLEM: the constancy of shots is anywhere from 0-6 before jamming. I got 3 off in the video, 4 before that, and 1-3 in the next 5 tries. I have gotten a full clip off, but that is the exception.

There you go, just trying to benefit the NIC.

Looks pretty cool, but I'm getting a "The action that you were trying to perform has failed. " message from photobucket on your video link. Are streamlines still pretty consistent after this mod, or are they affected also? I'm just curious.

Veet, I think your ability to infer is SPOT ON

Streamlines also jam more frequently, the piece I had to remove to make the head of a stock dart fit also worked as a lead for barrel insertion.

What adds to this is the slice I took out of the clip had one of the guide-rails for the spring in it so not only do the stock darts fit in unevenly, they are pushed out unevenly.

Ranges are like 45-50 when it works…

i have done this mod befor it came on nerf haven or youtube and me and mi friends got a full clip wit out triming the clip but any ways great job im only 11 tho

I'm not sure I see the point of this. What's wrong with the Recon shooting streamlines? I've heard some people say they are less accurate, but from my experience I don't see it. Nice job though, it looks very clean.

The only problem I forsee is the boltsled breaking free from the sled due to how much you cut away. Apart from that, it's an inventive mod.

I'm not sure I see the point of this. What's wrong with the Recon shooting streamlines?

The main reason is in my office we have all types of darts and maybe 10% are streamlines. Secondarily is for indoor wars with stock dart regulations.

Does it shoot screamers and suction tip darts? When I tried to do the same thing the dart tooth with pinch the end of the dart, so it was stuck in place.

Yes and yes, I used suctions in the vid. I have used sonics but I just didn’t have any on hand.

The tooth is what I removed to make the dart fit, otherwise the head will get caught and jam every time.

You probably need to widen the inside of the thing that the dart tooth goes into (forget the name of it). That might be a reason you're getting jams.

1)…What? No, is the answer I’m going with.
2) No they get about the same distance as when the Tooth deal was in place. That part provides very little in terms of acting as a barrel to fire the dart.

Yes, if I added a ‘scoop’ to guide the dart in that would likely work. Something similar to a trumpet bell was what I had in mind.

You might be able to see that I tried to taper it down, but here is a mock-up of what could be done to fix the problem. I’m only posting it because it is so crappy it might add some humerical value to this thread.
