With Ryan and myself heading to MN for their Fall war **wink wink, nudge, nudge, tip of the hat, know what I mean, know what I mean** we wanted to have something else before the flurry that will be ChANO 3.

(It's the same pic from last time, we'll meet by the park where we last Nerfed)

It's an awesomely large park with open fields and wooded areas for Nerfy goodness. It's in the heart of Oak Lawn, IL. We'll plan on meeting by the playground. I'll gladly give my number to anyone who wants it to ensure an easy meetup.

Relevant Information: The last Showdowns went splendidly, let's keep it up

Here's what to bring:
- A few guns; at least one primary and at least one *spring* pistol.
- Ammo, and a fair amount of it. If you forget you'll have to beg or worse...
- Eye Protection, you don't bring any, you can't play
- LUNCH AND DRINKS
- The only shields that will be permitted are Manta Rays and Crossfire Shields
- The ONLY melee weapons allowed are Nerf Brand Melee weapons, end of discussion

Here's what you shouldn't bring:
- The same rules apply here as they have in the past. If you don't know by now check the other CS threads or PM me.

We'll play a bunch of different games throughout the day:
- Team Deathmatch (2 and 3 teams)
- CTF
- Free for All
- Defend the Core
- Wingman

Rule Updates:
- Barrel Tapping is allowed however, your gun MUST be locked and loaded to tap, accompanied by saying, "Hit". I consider tapping a courtesy instead of shooting someone point blank with a powerful primary.
- A few wars I've been to has had people testing weapons by firing them at someone...If you're caught doing it I'll personally make sure you know it was a big mistake

Ok, I'd really like to go, but I'm new to this area of America. So from Deerfield to the said location, how much driving time are we talking. Google says an 1hr-but the drive times around here seem to allude me.

O and I don't make darts. I have no place or room or anything to do so. You ok with supplying me with some?

O and if I could get a useful phone number too, that'd be great.

An hour is pretty much spot-on. It's scenic though and simple on 290, no crazy turns at all. Though the proper exit still confuses me as I continue to take the incorrect one. Snake can probably assist in all that good stuff. Which part of Deerfield?

Josh? Do you remember me? You met me at 'Geddon this year. Glad to see you are interested in getting on the field. It's fun nerfing in multiple states.

But anyway, talk to Snake, the dude who is hosting the war. I'm sure he can supply you with darts, directions, phone numbers, and all that jazz.

Bags told me you had his old sexbow from some strange happening of events. He wanted you to hand that off to me so Zeke and I can pimp his 'bow.

I don't know if I could supply you with a ton, but I have many screamers and and stefans of the like. My darts fit PETG (OMC thick) thickly, almost/if not twisty in, and 9/16ths airfit/glove. I could make you about 100, I'm low on my stash too.

I'm not a huge ammo glutton so 100 stefans is amazing for me. I'm a conservationist when it comes to shooting. Where I grew up playing we played a lot with extremely limited ammunition (2-3 darts a person). So yeah.

I'm not sure about the barrel types I'm using-I'm of the ghetto-old-school-nerf where we find anything we use in a garage somewhere-if it fit a dart than we called it good.


Any darts would be appreciated I can pretty much work with anything. I'll bring some extra guns depending.

Less than that. I live about 10 mins North of Deerfield and it took me 1 hr to get to Showdown 1, and I had to swing by the McMaster-Carr warehouse on the way.

Also, I have upgraded from mangina to maybe.

Zorn, by any chance would you live in Highland Park? Guys I'd love to go but I'm not sure with the parents, but I really do want to come! I'm kind of nervous though seeing as its in/near the city, and you know how chicago cops can get. Put me as a maybe because I might be able to get a ride from a friend.

Your parents are welcome to come and watch. Some of the attendees parental units do that. The Chicago cops will have nothing to do with this because the war is actually in Oak Lawn, IL...don't worry about the cops, they were entertained by what we do.

Noodle! I've got videos and pics of past wars up on my blog, feel free to give'em a gander and show your parents. Aside from some potty humor it's all good. Heck, one of the nerfers at the last war was 12. When it comes to cops, don't worry about CPD. The cop we dealt with was from oak lawn, and truth be told he only really wanted to watch.

I have to agree to the above posts, the cops are not to be worried about when it comes to Oak Lawn. I imagine if he was off duty, he'd probably just sit and watch. Also, if you folks have nothing better to do just pull up a retractable chair and watch a few rounds, its quite entertaining.

Onto a better note, I hope we can fit in a couple +bow VS. all rounds. I know this seems quite exclusive to the +bow owners attending, but I kind of like the fact of being overpowered by population within the team. Its not like I need the challenge , though, I already suck as it is.


AnyaSeijin, I have your darts made if you were wondering. They're clear tipped with 1/4" slingshot ammo weighted. We won't be confused as to what darts are whose between us because mine have a glitter tip, so I hope this solves that issue. Also, if you run out of those, feel free to dig into my stash. I've got dart making down to a science!
