Grow up ass hat.
If you are unsure about the subject matter, PM an admin member. They can point you in the right direction.

No, I kinda like what Soothsayer said. I think he's on to something here.
Yeah, way to improve the site...... Make sure no-one ever posts. Shear brilliance. Why didn't I think of that before?
Look, yes, shit gets posted in Off Topic. But it just needs direction. That's all.
Not the admins saying nothing can be posted. Ever.

It's probably for the best though. Those who know how to post interesting shit in off topic should do so. Unicycles however are not interesting and I think I speak for a majority of members. District 9 however is something that most of us probably enjoy. So is xbox. And with Xbox we can get together and play together. That's good. But not Unicycles or Magic Cards. Those things are boring to everyone except the few who do it.
So, when it comes down to it, it's the opinion of a single moderator (the one that chooses to close the topic) that decides whether or not a topic is "interesting" to all of the members of Nerf Haven? I don't care about District 9 or Xbox (I think they're boring), so I just don't open the topic. I don't think it's fair that a topic is closed and not allowed to be discussed by anyone just because one mod disagrees with it. If there are clear cut rules that the thread is breaking, then yeah, close it. But, I don't see anything in the CoC restricting off-topic content.
Maybe there should be some written rules stickied in the off-topic category instead of "what I say goes" with no limitations or expectations of the moderators.
On the other hand, the guy who posted before me used the word 'fuck' a lot so he probably knows what he's talking about.

Seriously guys, I know you want a place to "hang out" and post whatever you feel like at the time but this is a nerf forum. It's been said many times before, if you don't want to talk about nerf go to NHQ or FU.
Then if NH is used to strictly discuss Nerf, why do we have an off-topic anyway? I see your point, but the off-topic category does say discuss anything not related to wargames. Which means not Nerf.
However, I also see the point that topics that only a few people care about are going to get closed. Stupid topics that only the creator thinks are worth anything should get closed.
What I think would be useful for members/moderators alike would be to specify which topics to stay away from in off topic, like the topics that are eventually going to get closed. It would help the potential unicyclers from posting topics that don't belong, while also letting everyone know what is appropriate to discuss in this board. That way it would be easier to know if you broke the rules, and topics would only get closed that should be closed.

I think that we should decide whats boring and what isnt. If a thread isnt really being replied to, then by all means close it. But if people are replying at a relatively steady rate, and not just two or three people, then it should be allowed to stand a little longer.

I agree to that *flush
Another note I may add to his reasons, that I believe making the "Off topic section" more of a hangout, you know, to actually make friends and then may later meet up with them at a war.
Now I know you might go "That's what the PM system is for.. blah.. blah" well, see why make one friends at a time when you can make a lot, especially ones with the same interests as you, and with friends, just like in the real world, ideas will spread, projects can be finally developed, newer creations at a faster rate, and soon enough we might actually destroy hasbro at it's game: Nerf
But yeah, if we are to have a said "off topic section" why be so strict about it? It's not against the CoC and if it's not, I just don't see any reason to shut it down... especially ones that connect the nerf community together

If people really have a problem with the regulation of the off-topic section, removing it entirely would be the easiest solution.
Now if someone could just open a thread in the trading section, bitching about the regulations, so I could close that cesspool down for good.

It's kinda sad that off topic is bigger than wars, by like double the topics.
