Materials:
soap and water
sandpaper
cpvc(you can use a different barrel material if you want. I made this so if would fire stock darts and my home depot sized foam nicely)
1/2 inch drill bit(skip if you are using a different barrel material)
a smaller drill bit(i don't know the size)
drill
electrical tape
foam pipe insulator
bolts and small wood screws
hack saw
pipe cutters(for a clean cut on your barrel material)
sharpie to mark cuts
nf spring
nf trigger spring
beastly little spring for catch(i found an industial one that doesn't want to fit in but makes the trigger pull nice and firm at a local ace)

So first... I wanted to clean it off with some soap and water. I used some heavy duty soap(it's a joke... just used dawn dish soap)
next dry it off so that it is just a little wet.
now get some real coarse sandpaper and sand it while it is damp.
Next take out the plunger tube. mark it where I have with a marker.
Then cut it off with your hacksaw. Pipe cutters just bend the plastic.
Drill it out a bit to widen the airflow. The more the better but not so that the tube is too thin.
Here's mine:
Next etch in some marks by moving your hacksaw sideways on this piece:
so that it looks like:
Then wrap it in etape until you think your barrel with fit over.
Now with my cpvc I drill it out to make a nice fit.

Mark where it meets the end of the shell
And cut
Now do what you did to your barrel stub.
And get some pipe insulation
Put it over your barrel so that your barrel is straight.
Now rip the nf spring out of one, as well as the trigger spring.
Put it on your plunger rod and put the pieces back in place. My sharpshooter still seals good.
Now replace the catch spring:
And trigger spring:
Pop it all back in then etape the shell nice and tight so that you can drill tiny holes and feed nice strong screws and bolts into it.
Now cut the ends of the too long of bolts if you used any off.

Those screws could probably be cleaned or something.

Anyway, nice job.
FA_24's response to Ice's back pain thread:
I used to have that problem until I got circumcised. 15 pounds later I was able to stand up straight.

Yeah... It's going to be silver, black, and metalic blue when I'm done with it. I forgot to mention that in the post(s).Good job, I don't understand why you sanded it though... Are you going to give it a paintjob?
Thanks for the compliment. I always like those from the moderators.I like it. Good job. That was my first gun when I was 8.
I figured it wasn't worth the work since they were pretty rusted on the heads and would most likely strip.Very nice job bringing this from the brink.
Those screws could probably be cleaned or something.
Yes. With a stock nightfinder spring. It's in there somewhere if you look through it all.Did you replace that rusty plunger spring? You didn't show any pics of it if you did.
Anyway, nice job.
Thanks. Although it was my moms find, not mine. I was just getting my kittens shots when she was out yardsaling.Man, I've seen non-refurbished revolutionary war muskets in better shape then that O.o
Good find, and good job fixing it.
EDIT: My kitten likes it.

Yeah... I don't even know how one would get into the handle... Or live in the gun. Then again I don't know how someone could manage to screw up a gun as much as this one was... Maybe some fbr in the dead spaces when I open it up to paint it. Although it's not loud at all.You didn't keep the spider in it? Imagine how the webs could silence that blaster!

Yeah I sort of like the faded color... But it can look much better.Effeminate repair job. Just sanded it has an interesting look. . .
I thought about it but figured I might as well try.You did a good job with that. I woulda given up.
