Okay so I finished painting my Vulcan yesterday and here's what came out:

I would have done more black on the trigger, front and on/off switch, but I ran out of paint.

Now, My friends have been telling me to do 3 different things:

It looks like a Heavy Bolter From Warhammer 40000,
Posted Image

It looks like a BFG From DOOM,

Or, It could become a Halo 3 Turret with 3 Pieces of PVC Pipe,

So, what should I do to my lovely gun next? (I hope this is the right place for this; it's kind of in between Modifications and General.)

Also, I have removed the air restrictor, and all the pegs in the chain.

You could still add legs and a beak.

I would do that with 3 barrels if I figured out how to wire it, and make the halo turret

You could there are 6 positions on the rotating mech in a vulcan, on 3 it would shoot out of barrels the other 3 it would not.

Well i guess I would have to go with 6 if I want it to go through them all. Or I could have 3, 2 that dont do anything and one that fires through. They wouldnt move but it would look like the turret. It would be like a hybrid.

If you tried to mount a rotating turret to the vulcans internal rotation mech for the chain you will quickly find out how fragile it is.

The first option looks the best and easiest. Adding longer barrels cosmetic barrels just decreases range.

Just put three barrels spaced apart and let the Vulcan shoot as a single barrel in the middle of the turret, so the dart doesn't touch any barrels.

o
o ' o

' is the real barrel.

Shit, I guess I can't triforce...

Doing this as I speak. I have no idea when I got it...my DAD got it some 15 years ago, but that doesn't matter. Anyways, it keeps jerking around all over the place. I try to hold it with a rag...It doesn't look like...much.

Doing a mod like that isn't hard at all. The rotating mech isn't that fragile (in m experience with Vulcans. I have two, and neither have broken.) Not sure how active he is anymore, but Salindin_naz can attest to the fact that I built a Vulcan like this a long time ago. I never posted it, but I pm'd it to a few people.

P.S. This post is not meant to sound angry or cocky. I'm just stating that I did this, and it isn't that hard or fragile.

And it is a thing of beauty SGM. As for my lack of activity, I still drop by, but I've been really busy lately, and haven't have much time to get any new work done, though I have like ten projects sitting on the work bench at this time.

I've heard of them breaking with just the extra weight of doubling up the chains. Never did much with the vulcan myself. just sold mine couple weeks back at W@M.

Thanks for all the input guys. Im probly not going to the the barrel thing, because if the gun cant take it, then it would be stupid to do. I could make a different version of Chubbs, but then everything ive allready done cosmeticly to the gun would be a waste of paint. I Think that doing the TF2 Mini-Gun would be pretty easy in the end. Get 6 thin barrels and place them like mini-gun barrels but it looks like I could have perfect space in the middle for the dart to fly through, withought touching the barrels. If I could do this, it would be amasing. How much does pvc cost? Thanks again,

WHO TOUCHED MY GUN!

No, really. Make the turret, but make the actual gun shoot between the barrels. Rotation is up to you.

Since I'm a huge Halo fan I have to say the turret. Good luck and I like the paint job.

You could use a large diameter pvc pipe in the middle for structure and for the actual shooting of the gun. Then it would be easy to epoxy the fake ones around that.
