I took some ideas from BustaNinja's Longshot mod to do this. His was pretty much Aluminum glued onto the back of the back of the stock plunger rod, so it primed like a Crossbow. But, after seeing it Effeminateally break before SPANO, and having questioned it's durability from the start, I figured I could make a similar, but better version. Add to that, my entire product cost less than I can get a length of Aluminum rod for.

The plunger head part is a CS style washer head, held onto the CPVC endcap via a 1/4" screw with a nut on the inside.

The cap is held onto the CPVC by two small screws on both sides.

The catch "Notch" as I call it is a small peice of 1/2" PVC, grinded down on the outside into a somewhat cone shape. I also drilled out the inside with a 5/8" Drill Bit. I then glued it one with PVC cement, and drilled a hole through both sides for a screw. I screwed in the screw, and cut off the head, filed it down, so it is flush with the PVC.

I made a hole in the back of the shell for the new rod to extend out of, this making it prime like a Crossbow.

I still need to cut down the CPVC, and attatch a Tee or something as a handle. Some very rough testing shows that it does work, but it still needs some work to make it function more smoothley. And the spring is a cut down +bow spring, also.

So does this increase plunger volume or is it just an alternate way of priming?

It actually can increase the plunger travel. If you remove the stock barrel and everything, so it's just the plunger tube, and you measure the new rod assembly right, the plunger head will move about 3/4" farther, thus increasing volume. The alternate way of priming is part of it too.

That is a beautifully cut circle in the back of the gun. Nice job.
