I really don't understand what is so big about using a breech I mean on a Speed loader or flip clip ( PVC/CPVC glued onto each other) your able to reload just as fast and it can be a lot more easy to do while not having to pay for brass.

I basically would like you to tell me why you prefer a breech over a Speed loader while they are cheaper and easy to make.

Personal preference. People do what they are comfortable with, no matter how it affects their gun.

For example, I use stocks on a lot of my guns. Not because I need support or stabilization, I'm just more comfortable with them.

And as for the expense of brass, I'm pretty sure a brass barreled speed loader actually costs more than a brass breech.

Oh, and wasn't there a thread like this like two days ago?

As renegade said, its personal preference. Also it depends on what type of gun you use. Like with Long guns (as in physical length) such as x-bows, its more comfortable to have the loading method closer to where your hands are actually acting (trigger, priming handle/pump) so that way you don't have to go medieval and load it like an actual crossbow. And with pistols, since their bodies are small, there's not really a way to fit a breech in them, so speed-loaders are ideal.
Big guns, big money-small money, equal cash.

There was a part of this thread that talked about the advantages of each. Even though the OP originally said ram-rod versus breech, there was a point that speedloader versus breech was being discussed.

The way I see it is that speedloaders have 2 quicker shots while breech's have a slower but steadier ROF. That second shot can be valuable for rushers on a speedloader, but I find it easier to RELOAD a breech and it easier to LOAD a speedloader. Try out both and see what you like.

The rate of fire on a breech is consistent. What if you drop your speed loader or your ramrod or your extra barrel. Then you are either screwed or its going to take you that much longer to reload. A breech you open, reload, close fire, repeat. You are going to get more shots off due to less fumbling around with parts. Of course if you can clip a breech you are going to have an even greater rof.
I've seen a couple non brass breeches at W@M I was pretty impressed with.

For pistols you should use a cpvc speedloader and coupler. If you're using a more powerful gun you should make a PETG breech like this.

Both statements that a breech is easier to load/reload and has a more consistently (higher) overall ROF than a speedloader are false. Time it, you'll see. Moreover, I like to make tri-barrels, which gives two barrels facing the "right" direction for an easier to load s.loader and a backup shot.

The only time when a breech is better than a speed loader is if it is clipped for magazines. But magazines jam.

Simpler is generally better, and nothing's simpler than some straight barrels.

While that's true, Speedloaders for higher powered guns tend to be much bulkier than breechs of the same length. Also since speedloader detach from the gun it is near impossible to load them while running, unlike a breach which can be popped open and popped closed with ease. This is crucial if you're in a battle which requires you to be constanly on the move (so pretty much anything but a loser war). I guess it is just a prefferance but my preferance is breeches.

Time it, you'll see.

And what are you doing during the said timing? Standing still?

I agree that getting the first two shots in with a speedloader is faster than with a breech, but the third shot will be faster with a breech. Thus why I like speedloaders on pistols, where REloading quickly isn't a necessity.

But what it really comes down to is personal preference and what someone is good with. There's people who are good with breech's and there are people who are good with speedloaders.

(1) I know someone who's deadly with a speed loader on a +bow. And the MN nerfers will attest that I was fairly good with my tri-barreled big blast (3 14" PVC barrels) at SPANO and also did well my turreted Big Blast which has 4 13" PETG barrels on a SM1.5k turret with PVC base and a PVC at the inlet so it can connect to couplers.

(2) You need to work on your hand eye coordination. Most likely, you will be running with the gun in a vertical direction, so a speed loader would actually be easier, if you load and then flip.

Running with the gun in a vertical direction is awkward and hard to load, I always run with my gun level. In these situations a breech is closer to you and easier to load, and a speedloader is way out in front of the gun.

I don't have the greatest dexterity in my hands possible. Especially when I'm running around in the heat, so I've dropped flip-around clips or spun them around quickly enough to dump the darts out of it.
I prefer a breech because I can make really really nice ones, and I don't have to worry about me fumbling it while I'm running.

The little critters of nature, they don't know that they're ugly. That's very funny, a fly marrying a bumble bee. I told you I'd shoot, but you didn't believe me. Why didn't you believe me?

Preference. Period. I prefer breeches. However, what I prefer over anything is a UBS. If you drop one, you get cover near by, shoot some people, and then get it. Unfortunately, it means carrying around a giant quiver for all the barrels.
